Teachin'Mine
Would you count The Fallacy Detective and Teaching Toolbox as a logic "course" which would qualify for high school credit? What would you recommend to use for logic after these books? Any input is greatly appreciated!:bigear:
Storm Bay
We use those two books prior to high school, and I'm not sure if they could count as a high school credit or not. Dd did Traditional Logic 1 for Logic 1 and will do the next one for Logic 2, then probably material Logic for Logic 3 if we do 3 logic courses. By the time she gets to her junior year, she'll have more say in what she does than she does now.
FloridaLisa
Would you count The Fallacy Detective and Teaching Toolbox as a logic "course" which would qualify for high school credit? I probably would not count them for high school credit. They are good books' date=' but they are in no way critical as a precursor to formal logic. You could easily just start with Intro to Logic (Nance/Wilson) or Traditional Logic (Cothran). In fact both books cover logical fallacies. You could even have your dc work through a beginning logic book, and then work through the FD questions as extra practice. Hope that helps!
