Birth certificates and identity theft question...

Recommended Posts

Probably.....Although, if it's in hard copy and not electronic, it means that someone would need to physically take it, right? Most things that require birth certificates require certified originals and not copies.

It is also required around here to participate in activities. As a means of verifying age. On my to-do list right now is to take one by to sign my youngest up for soccer.

So, whaddya do?

Right- I'm thinking it's the original that is so important, not the actual information. There's really not that much information on there. But I don't know all that much about identity theft, so maybe I'm missing something.

It is used to verify age.

Oh, hey, couldn't you put VOID on it somewhere (like over your name) and change the size. If you make it bigger it will distort it, smaller it will make it harder to copy and use, should someone get ahold of it. Also, you could try writing VOID VOID VOID all over it, leaving the pertinent info visible. Just let the powers that be know before you send it.
