Something from the Critical Thinking Company... like Building Thinking Skills? Any ideas?

:bigear:

TIA!

Building Thinking Skills, K-3. My older is using that (he's 7) and my second is 5 1/2--and about a month away from finishing DEL 4. So I've ordered Building Thinking Skills for him too. It's inexpensive from Rainbow Resource; I had ordered my first copy from SL for $28 (!!!) and I think this second copy was like $14 from RR---

My ds is nearing completion of book 4, too. DEL has definitely served it's purpose very well, for both of us... he really likes his "fun sheets" and I have a better grasp on his strengths and weaknesses.

After looking into our options a bit further, I believe we've decided on Building Thinking Skills Level 1. That said, I'm thinking of only getting the Student Book (Student Content w/Answer Guide). Do I need the Instruction/Answer Guide too?

Thanks again! :001_smile:

Whoops--this is what we have:

http://www.rainbowresource.com/product/Critical+Thinking+Activities+Grades+K-3/014358/1262134876-111125

Since you used DEL, i automatically thought you were talking about the critical thinking book that SL sells--that's what I meant for the "K-3" book.

I know Building Thinking Skills is a WTM recommendation, but i haven't looked into it yet--I only know the one I linked, and it's good for after DEL. No teacher's guide; it's an all-inclusive book.

Hmm... do you happen to know where I can find more sample pages?

no, but here are more reviews:

http://www.amazon.com/Critical-Thinking-Activities-Grades-K-3/dp/0866514716

http://www.sonlight.com/EN052.html

It's a good price (although I think it was cheaper at RR a few weeks ago--it was around $15 and now it's $19) and it does come right after DEL to me--- not quite as fun as DEL, it's not at all silly, but still like a "puzzle book" of sorts.

Are you on the SL boards? I read some posts about the book before I bought it---

Unfortunately, I'm not on the SL boards and I have already seen the other reviews, but I was hoping to find more sample pages. That said, I'm considering going with your suggestion (after completing DEL book 4) to work through to the end of the summer. It seems very interesting. Then we could start BTS Level 1 in first grade.

Thanks for the idea! :D
