Parabola
Does anyone know the correct proofreading mark one would make indicating a need to change a capital letter to a lower case letter? Would it be the same as the mark indicating a need to change a lower case letter to a capital letter?
MichelleWI
I have a copy of Warriner's English Grammar and Composition and it says to use "cap" for "error in use of capital letters".
Beth in Central TX
I learned to put a diagonal line through a capital letter (from bottom left to top right) to indicate that it should be lower case. I put 3 lines horizontal lines under a lower case letter that should be capitalized.
Mama Lynx
I learned to put a delete mark through it and an "lc" (for lowercase) next to the delete mark. Like Beth, I learned to put three horizontal lines under a lowercase letter that needed to be capped.
FloridaLisa
teaches (or taught) the marks that Beth indicated. Aaah, brings back lots of college memories. . . Lisa
Parabola
Excellent! Thanks ladies. We knew the mark to change lower case to capital but thats not a mistake my ds makes very often. He has problems the other way and I didn't know if it was the same mark or a different one. So thanks for the info.
