Quiver0f10
Anyone make their own? How well does it work? Does it leave a film or spots on the dishes? Thanks. Edited November 22, 2009 by Quiver0f10 typo
Garga
I've just spent the last hour resrearching this. Here's a recipe I'm going to try tomorrow. (Using the salt and citric acid and vinegar is supposed to make sure there's no film on the dishes.) 1/2 c borax 1/2 c washing soda 1/4 c citric acid (or 10-15 lemon kool-aid packets without sugar in them) 1/4 c kosher salt Add all those ingredients together. Shake. Use 1 Tblspoon per load PLUS add white vinegar to the Rinse Aid compartment.

More so than regular detergents.
Garga
Thanks for the gloves tip. I haven't done this recipe yet. I just have been researching dishwashing det. recipes all evening, and that one seemed to be the most complete. I don't think you ever actually touch the washing soda. You put all the ingredients into some sort of container with a lid and shake.
Peri
Sorry. I didn't realize it was for an automatic dishwasher.
