Noeo Biology II

Thoughts on this program?

I'm having a hard time finding science. I had really wanted to do SL science 3 because SL science suits me- I actually get it out and get it done. However, there are several components that we would need to leave out, leaving gaps, and for the price that seems silly.

I really want to do Biology but I've heard bad things about The Body Book which is included in Noeo Biology II. What have your experiences been?

Also, is the suggested age range fairly accurate? My son will be in 4th and my dd in 3rd, but I think she could keep up just fine.

Noeo is a fit if you have a knack for science yourself. We use it, but both my husband and I love science. For a good secular program I recommend ScienceWiz kits and Thames and Kosmos kits. Both come with booklets (ScienceWiz) or books (Thames) which explain the concepts fairly well, plus have most of the components needed for the experiments. The individual kits will give you an age range. I'm considering using their (Thames) middle school program as the basis for 6th grade science. Several threads have positive comments about Ellen McHenry science books. It sounds secular, not sure. Good luck.

Thanks for the ideas, I'll take a look at some of those. I actually have Noeo Physics I but want to do biology next. I'm thinking about using Real Science Odyssey, the prep just scares me off.
