At what age would you feel comfortable

Recommended Posts

We dropped my 16yo son off when he was 14, but at the entrance to the movie theater and picked up at the same spot when the movie was over. Now that he can drive, he will occasionally shop with friends for a couple of hours.

My 12yo dd has never been dropped off at the mall. At 13 or 14 if she was with a trusted friend and had her cell phone, I might drop her off in time for a movie and pick her up immediately after. It will be a VERY long time before I let her wander around the mall without me or a big brother.

I admit I make a difference between my boys and girls - I think it is a safety issue. Not that things don't happen to boys, but in my mind is much less likely.
