bluemongoose
Can someone tell me what this is like? I am wondering if it might fit better for my son. My DD used SSRW very successfully because she was able to handle the writing, but I don't think this will be a good thing for DS. He has a very hard time holding a pencil, but knows his letters and is picking up their sounds. I would like to move on with him in reading/phonics. He loves to feel big like his sister by having his workbook, but he is really not ready for writing. I know the Blue level has a student book, but is it paper projects like gluing and such or is it writing??? I would be fine with skipping the writing if it is minimal. Minimal is not the case in the SSRW books.
calandalsmom
Its a lovely gentle program. We began it with my ds at 4-5ish and did a bit of it but he took off reading and it became a little superfluous. Id definitely recommend it for a child who doesnt love to write. The activities are varied and fun.
