jenL
Ds6 loves critical thinking types of puzzles, activities, etc. I'm looking to get him a workbook for Christmas that he can use in his free time, the car, etc. What would you suggest? Lori D.
These would be my suggestion, for a wide variety of puzzle types: - Critical Thinking Activities in Pattern, Image, Logic (gr. 1-3) -- by Seymour - Logic Safari (book 1 = gr. 2-3; book 2 = gr. 3-4) - Lollipop Logic (gr. K-2) - Primarily Logic (gr. 2-4) - Connections series (by grade level) - Gifted and Talented series (K-4 gr.) -- by Amerikander, or other authors - Puzzlemania series (gr. 1-5) -- best of Highlights magazine variety of puzzles - hidden picture puzzle books (like: The Jumbo Book of Hidden Objects; Highlight Magazine collections; etc.) - search and find type of books (like ones by Tony Tallarico; Usborne Great Searches series; Where's Waldo series; etc.) And try doing google searches for free/printable word searches, mazes, sudoku puzzles, simple crosswords, etc. You can print out a stack and staple a dozen together for a booklet. Solo Games: - Logix - Scramble Squares - Tangrams - Rush Hour Junior Edited October 10, 2009 by Lori D. added info
abbeyej
Mindwareonline has a number of nice puzzle books as well -- and they tend to have more problems (sometimes 4x as many) for the same price as as some of the Critical Thinking books...
