Stacy in NJ
more and relied less on "experts". I did this because my own feelings of insecurity and fear. The longer I homeschool, the more I trust myself, the more enjoyable our homeschooling experience has become. I wished I'd know that it's okay to trust myself, that I really do know how to do this. Mad Jenny Flint
That I don't have to push them to learn- a little goes a long way (love Jonibee's drip, drip, drip analogy, which is perfect). The structure is great as long as it is not overwhelming. I am finally finding more of that balance. Second thing: This applies whether you homeschool or not. Your "issues" are not theirs. Your worries are not theirs. Pull back enough so that you can really hear what *their* issues/worries are, if they have any. When you have that clarity, you can be really helpful to them, and maybe put some of your own issues and worries to rest.
