Cindy in C-ville
For my ds who we're considering Concerta (see other post), I'm thinking it might be great for him to read some stories of others who have various learning disabilities. Suggestions?
HeidiD
Civil War General, president of Bowdoin College, governer of Maine... My husband gave me his biography ("In the Hands of Providence" - Alice Rains Trulock) and I was amazed to read that he had such a terrible speech impediment, he was almost afraid to open his mouth. He struggled a great deal and finally overcame the problem when he was in college, eventually becoming known as a fine orator (partly because the technique he developed to disguise his speech impediment made him sound "melodic".) :) It's an adult book, but maybe you could find it in the library and read the part to your son that addresses this. If you like movies, "Gods and Generals" is a Civil War film in which Chamberlain is featured.
