amtmcm
Hi! I received your PM but for some reason cannot reply with PM.... We are using the DVD program Discoveries in Music and it's very well done. The DVD is geared for K-3rd, so it's little young for my 4th grader but she likes music so she's willing to tolerate it. Here are the 32 weekly lessons. Each DVD lesson lasts about 10 minutes and there are exercises in the workbook to expand on the lesson. EmilyK
How do you purchase the DVDs? Is this the product at the Veritas Press website for $155?
amtmcm
Yes, it's also available from VP. I think it's called Discoveries in Music (aka Melody Lane). The set comes with a lap harp, triangle and recorder.

campmom
We love these at our house also. We have the old version Melody Lane. My boys have been enjoying these since they were 2 yrs. It is amazing how much they know about music from the videos. They just finished watching one for fun. LOVE THEM.
sleepymommy
Do the videos teach the children how to play the included instruments? Would this work with multiple kids? Thanks!
amtmcm
We're on lesson 8 and the DVD hasn't provided instruction on how to play the instruments so far. It is included in the workbook. The lap harp is self explanatory - my DD's both played it right out of the box - it's really fun! From scanning ahead, I believe the DVD Rhythm lesson provides some instruction on the triangle. The workbook has fingering charts for the recorder and you can find more online. Maybe someone who has used the entire program can answer?
