State history

Recommended Posts

We have used the library, the state visitor or tourist board and state government websites to get information for several states we have studied. We have found that many states have a place on their website where you can write for information.

We have also used books from www.statehistory.net (it is from a Christian perspective). They have a complete study for each of the 50 states.

Hope that helps.

I have a copy of the Abeka "My State Notebook" and the NC book from http://www.statehistory.net that uses it. We are non-Christian, and I have found it quite usable as long as you don't plan to do the section on the constitution in the back (which is designed for older students). That was the only place in which I found they had inserted theological interpretation rather than just factual history.
