Manamana
I've done the cartridge refills at Walgreens for $5 (b/w) and $10 (color). They have coupons and can be cheaper. The toner doesn't last as long as a new HP cartridge but it has worked well for my printing needs which are not heavy.
s.z.ichigo
Agreed. Get a refill kit. That will come with the tools you need, and after that you can buy ink in bulk online. I have an HP and it's as simple as poking the point of a squeezy bottle into the right hole in the cartridge. Make sure you get the right color cartridge, 3 color or 6 color. LaxMom
We order our toner (not ink, we have a laser) from Super Media Store. Our toner cartridges retail for about $80, there we pay $32 and get two at a time so, free shipping.

I do, however, get my ink in my inkjet printer through a place that does refills. I drop off the old cartridges and the hand me newly filled ones at a great discount. They fill them up, so they actually last longer (and cost about half as much) as the new ones.
