graceunseen
I'm looking for something that will teach outlining on a consistent basis. I'd love a workbook format so I don't have to find passages and paragraphs on my own and I want something different than IEW keywork outlines. Thanks. Amy in TX
http://www.rempub.com/Results.cfm?keywords=outlining&Submit=Search I've used the outlining and finding the main idea workbooks with my late-elementary age dc. It was a very painless way for them to get the concept of outlining and plenty of practice. :)
graceunseen
These look great and just like something I've been looking for. I really like this concept as a foundation for later being able to put their own thoughts together for later writing. Have they done this for you. How long did it take you to finish a workbook? Amy in TX
depending on the child, so that they have the idea before they need to do a lot of outlining in the logic stage. They can do a workbook in a semester, I think (IIRC). They still needed some hand holding when they started doing, say, history outlines in 5th or 6th grade, but they already knew what outlining was and had had some practice, so we didn't have to spend history time learning that. Also, the SOTW 4 Activity Guide has the child fill in partial outlines as narration exercises. That made a nice bridge between these outlining workbooks and doing outlines of Kingfisher on their own.
