titianmom
Hi all, I'm thinking of doing an art class on the side for my budding artist. I think she'd prefer watching a DVD for instruction. Any ideas? I want one that covers landscape, people, animals, etc. Please, not just shading, lines, etc which she finds quite boring. She had a class on this before and because the class moved at a snails pace (the instructor's pace) she was really bored with it. With a DVD, I'm hoping that she can learn techniques and move on quickly through the dry parts. Kim PS: Forgot to add--she's a pretty good little artist and would make a great cartoonist someday. Even one that gets into cartooning would be great, too.
amtmcm
http://www.homeschoolart.com/ I've read many recommendations on this forum for Atelier Art so I bought it and we'll be using it in the fall. They have a chart for suggested Age Levels and each level covers a variety of topics.

LanaTron
Children's Art Videos I just purchased some of these from a seller on the Sale/Swap board (I think the same seller has some listed now, but I don't know if they have sold). I have only previewed the one on Monet, but it looks pretty good. The quality of the video could be better--it definitely looks homemade--but the instruction looks pretty good. Haven't tried with my dc yet, and so far the other things I have thought would be great w/ my kids have bombed...so YMMV.
