PiCO
Can you tell I'm trying to plan my driving trip on the cheap? I'm wondering if anyone knows of a nice tent camping spot near Omaha or Lincoln. Thanks!
Tree Frog
You might check Mahoney State Park. It is between Omaha and Lincoln off I-80, very near the SAC Museum (It may also be called the Air and Space Museum). Marcia

Just Another Jen
We discovered municipal campgrounds when we drove from chicagoland out to mount rushmore. Try googleing "municipal campgrounds + the town you want to be near. We stayed in a few through Nebraska and they were an excellent value at maybe $12-15 a night. You could walk into town- and one we stayed in included free open swim in their town's public pool. My teen boys were celebrities for the night- with the preteen farm girls asking them all about Chicago!

I want to be relatively close to the highway, but proximity to Lincoln or Omaha is not so important. Thanks!
