Hugs and understanding. I battle depression and anxiety, too. I've been doing better this week, but that's subject to change. Take care of yourself. It's not selfish when we have to practice self-care. It's how we survive.

My 10th grader is really struggling with Saxon. It's all we've ever used, but she has just hit a brick wall this year with Algebra 2. The geometry concepts are just not sticking at all. We have the DIVE CD, but it's still not helping. I'm trying to decide between Math U See and Teaching Textbooks for Geometry next year. What do you all suggest?

Anyone ever use their materials? I just discovered this site: http://7sistershomeschool.com/

I eat low carb, which did help me somewhat when I struggled with this same thing. Also, I don't know if this is true for you, but I was recently diagnosed with major depressive disorder. I'm on medication and see a psychiatrist and therapist now, and these things have greatly improved my concentration.

I'm currently obsessed with Urban Decay Vice Lipstick. I got this for myself for Valentine's Day: http://www.makeupandbeautyblog.com/product-reviews/urban-decay-vice-lipstick-palette-blackmail-junkie-holiday-2016/

A day spent doing my favorite things: brunch, shopping, the beach, dinner with drinks, finish with a long, warm bath and a good book

Thanks for the input and suggestions.

No way! I would have tossed it.

Have these helped any of your children with anxiety and/or self-harm issues? I'm considering using some Christmas money that we received to purchase one for my daughter. She already has a weighted blanket and likes it. Thanks!

Spinach Artichoke Dip! (I, personally, like stuffed mushrooms, but that's rarely an entire-crowd-pleaser. LOL)
Those are two of my favorites!

I make a dip that's always a hit: 16 oz. Velveeta, 8 oz. cream cheese, 1 can of RoTel tomatoes-undrained, and 1 lb. sausage. Soften the cream cheese. Brown the sausage. Melt the Velveeta in the microwave. Add the tomatoes. Stir it all together. This can also be done with a crock pot...easy! Serve with tortilla chips.

Thank you. That does help. I also felt that there was too much plot summary. The assignment was to write an interpretive essay about her understanding of something in the novel. More detailed instructions were given in the book - this is Oak Meadow Lit & Comp II.

When I taught public school, I had my students sweep and dust the classroom and keep their desks and areas around their desks clean and neat. They actually enjoyed helping. The custodians loved me and my class!

The Lorax. I like most Dr. Seuss books, but I just cannot stand that one.
