  1. My 3 year old, come 4 year old this August was so excited when our package arrived with our first ever home school materials, so we decided to start a few months early. We are doing Little Hearts for His Glory and so far she loves loves loves it. The history portion (Little Pilgrams book) is a bit much for a 3 year old to understand, so we mostly discuss what it says instead of me just reading it aloud to her. She loves verse memorization (who knew!) and the hands on math applications. The hands on science sections are also a huge hit. Overall it is awesome and she loves it to bits. Just today she begged to do some math with the soup cans, haha! We love it and I thank you all for recommending it to me a few weeks back. What a great program! As an aside, we are going to introduce Horizons Math in the Fall as the supplement, and for phonics, we are just reading books--nothing fancy. :)
  2. Oh fun!!! And congratulations to her!!! I am guessing that she will not want an annual pass unless they are planning on being there longer than 10 days, at which point it makes more sense to get an annual pass. If it turns out that is what they want, let me know! I would have happy to send it off to her. :)
  3. Hi everyone! I am mostly a lurker on these boards as I prepare to begin homeschooling my 2 and almost 4 year old. We actually just started part of the HOD program for my near 4 year old this morning--what fun! Anyway, my husband and I hold annual passes to Disney World and we have received 4 discount cards that we can pass along to others offering a 10% discount off of the purchase of an annual pass. Each card gives 10% off of up to 6 passes. There are two catches--the disclaimer says the tickets must be purchased at the theme parks themselves (no travel agencies) AND purchases must be made by the 31st of July. If anyone is interested in having one of these cards, I am happy to send them along to you. It is noted that they are not available for resale, so please don't ask for them with the purchase of selling them. Let me know if you want one, or know someone who wants one! Thanks! Heidi
  4. Thank you all so much for sharing your experiences! The Heart of Dakota programs look really great because they seem to be a bit more flexible with what your child is able to do/not do (substitute in other activities, etc). We are going to keep wading through materials and I will let you guys know what we end up doing! Thanks!! Heidi
  5. Hi everyone! I have a 2 year old and a 3 year old who are quite interestd in starting to do some school at home. My husband and I have spoken quite a bit about doing homeschool for the kids in a few years and have focused on curriculum for them then, but I am not quite sure about a good, Bible based preschool curriculum. I have found both Hands on Homeschooling and Heart of Dakota and they both seem great, though I haven't seen many reviews on these at all. Any experiences or recommendations? Thanks! Heidi
