  1. Which of these have you used and what did you like and dislike? I can't decide!! I am not sure she would like all the extras with HWOT's. If you have used this did your child like them and which did you use? Does one provide better practice than the other?
  2. I am going to order Rightstart A to use with my almost 5 year old this fall. I was thinking of supplementing with Singapore Earlybird A and B. My question is to those who have done this...did you do both books or could I do A before we even start RS A and then add in Earlybird B? Should I start RS A and Earlybird A at the same time? Also, which Singapore Earlybird item did you use...just the textbook or the textbook and activity book? Did you use the TE? I know it's a lot of questions...this is my first year to homeschool:001_smile:
  3. Hi Ladies, I am so happy I found this thread! We moved to the Tulsa area last summer and we have decided to homeschool our daughter. I attended the Classical Conversation info meeting in Tulsa back in February (I think) and I am planning on joining the group in Owasso. This will be our first year to homeschool and I am really starting to get cold feet:001_unsure: Today was her last day at a MDO program and I feel so out of the loop as all the other kids will go to preschool this fall. Would love to meet other homeschoolers!
  4. Thank you for all the responses. Her writing is so-so. We are working on HWOT pre-k right now...will be waiting to start phonics and any math until this fall. I will probably skip some of the writing and do it orally or write it in for her. I am going to check out OPGTR...keep seeing really positive reviews.
  5. This will be my first year to homeschool our daughter. She is 4.5 and already knows her letters and sounds with no problem. I have already started teaching her to blend...she is beginning to pick it up very easily. So my question is which phonics program to use!! I have narrowed it down(I think:confused:) to McRuffy, Sing Spell Read and Write or maybe Abeka k5. McRuffy was not at the homeschool fair so I have only seen the samples online. Really liked what I saw...looked like it was a good balance between the other two I am considering. I would love to hear thoughts from anyone that has used this!! Abeka looks very thorough but I don't want it to be so drill and kill that she loses interest. SSRW has lots of bells and whistles and is pricey. She would love the singing but I have read that the songs and games can be repetitive and get boring. Anyways, I am probably obsessing way too much over this decision but I would really appreciate your thoughts or opinoins.
  6. I am wondering for those who attend Classical Conversations do you follow their history timeline and just supplement as you go or do you follow your own history timeline? I really like the TWTM timeline but I am worried it will be confusing when we are studying something different at home...Thanks for any thoughts you have!
