Another option is to look at www.nild.net
I've been an educational therapist using Nild program for 12 years.

When mine were that age, we did science and history (one per day) in the afternoon.

We use God's World News also. It comes monthly now, but it's thicker and they have additional stuff on their website. I order for a group(7 or more), and just pass them out each month. This way we get a huge discount.

They just do the minimum to see if your child qualifies. It doesn't give you any overall score or indicate how he/she would do on the other subtests.

We did all of Jacob's. My understanding is that NEM will go further than Jacob's while also introducing the other areas of math. So far it's presented so differently that I don't think repetition will be a problem. Algebra has been enough of a jump in skill requirements that she is finally needing some review as well.

I agree cooking it half or most of the way is probably best, but I usually cook mine the whole way. If you cook it from frozen it takes at least 50% longer to bake.

When my 10yo finished 6B, I was afraid the layout of the NEM books would look too overwhelming to her. So we did Jacob's Algebra. She is now starting NEM 1 and doing well.

I'm new to the group and will probably just observe most of the time. I 've this problem often also. My sister's kids have LD issues, so I have to be very careful when discussing anything academic. It's great have a place where others understand.

I think you've all convinced me, as well.
Thanks

We went from 6B to Jacob's Algebra, and now will continue with NEM 1. I felt that Jacob's looked less intimidating to a 10 yr. old.

I've used Phonics Pathways for my three so far. It has worked well for us. I've added Explode the Code for the ones that needed something more for extra practice. I might use OPG if I where starting from scratch, but I'm not willing to spend more money.
