    Poor family! After browning the garlic, onion, and ground turkey in olive oil, and adding two quarts of chicken stock, I added the diced vegetables, then the brown-and-wild rice combo puchased in bulk. Instantly, an army of dead bugs floated to the top of the dutch oven. Prospective dinner literally went down the drain. Hello bowl of cold cereal.

      While it sounds disgusting, I would be sorely tempted to scoop off those dead bugs and let the mixture boil for a while. Really, heat and acids from the garlic and onion should kills just about anything :) But, I agree, it's rather yucky.

      DH suggested that; however I would have mistrusted every grain of wild rice in case it, too, was a reconstituted insect!
