Is there a book similar to sotw for american history? I love the narrative approach to history but even more I love the activity book with it's bibliography and ideas for projects. I have searched a little and come up empty. Does anyone have any suggestions? I will use sotw vol 3 but would like to supplement American history specifically. All ideas are welcome.

I am in the suck it up camp...my dear great-grandmother was a lovely lady she hated having her picture taken...didn't make an issue of ever taking pictures and guess what she is gone. I have one picture of her taken 2 weeks before she died of cancer...not a great picture but the only I have and I had to insist (not nicely) to get that one. It is a picture of her, my granny, my mom, me and my daughter 5 generations in one picture and I had to use my "mommy voice" with her to get it. Big Gram had to suck it up that one time and I wish now I had asked her to suck it up more often. Photos are not about us but those who come after us. just my .2 worth

Your ministry right now is your father and children. It is ok not to be superwoman. We can only do a few thngs really well. Your father is ill and your children are growing up...this is ministry. I say in love to you, decide what is important and lay aside what is urgent. Sending you thoughts and prayers of peace and wisdom.

Has anyone used Gravitas Real Science for Kids? This looks like it offers a little more structure and I think it looks like a good program but would like anyone who has used it to wiegh in please. Science is not my strength and I have 2 boys who want to go a little more in depth than I am comfortable. I was thinking specifically of using the physics materials. I would appreciate comments on any of them though. Amazon reviews are a little mixed so that's why I posted here. thanks

thankyou...I have 6th grader, 5th grader, 3rd grader and a 1st grader. We have worked through both vol 1 and vol 2 of SOTW and sonlight 1 and 2. I loved all the hands on projects and the books listed in sotw activity guides. I was hoping to find something similiar to use for american history.
