  1. Title says it all. I need a history curriculum with a biblical worldview for 2nd and 1st grade. I'd like something for multiple ages if possible.

I looked at AIG but it says it's for 6-12th graders

MOH - everyone says it's best for 4-8th graders

So I'm at a loss. I'm not really interested in MFW or HOD. :(

Are there any other options?? Or has anyone used AIG or MOH successfully with 1st and 2nd graders??

    Thanks so much

  2. I have 5 kids, 3 of whom will be in school next year. I cannot find a spelling program I like. (OK, I've only tried 2: Building Spelling SKills by CLP and the spelling in HOD)

I just don't know if AAS would be too much work for me with 5 kids.

Should AAS be my first or last resort as far as looking for a spelling curriculum goes? Should I look for something that is less teacher intensive?

I honestly am stumped. Also, if 2 kids started at the same level, do I need to buy separate supplies for them, or can they share?

    Thanks so much

  3. Could I use "Fruit for Tender Hearts" with my K3 son for next year? He'll be 4 in December. Also, about how much time does it take per day and are there any additional resources that I would need to buy? It looks like a great program.

  4. We used it for my K this year. We're switching to CLE 100 for this coming year.

I wouldn't use it (Horizons) in the long run because I did NOT like the TG. I like something that tells me exactly what to do. However, it was a good gentle introduction to doing "formal" math everyday which is what I wanted.

I do not regret using it for K.

  5. If you're looking at R&S, you may want to look at Climbing to Good English. I had debated between the two before decided to go with Climbing to Good English. It's got a lot of phonics review in the beginning, but you end the year learning quite a bit. Ultimately, I found it more age appropriate than R&S 2 for 1st. For the price, I was ecstatic! ($3 something @ RR)

Thanks! I'll go check this out. I haven't looked at it before.

To the previous poster, I can't really put my finger on why I don't want to use FLL. I checked it out of the library and it just really wasn't my style I guess?? I may consider it if something else doesn't go over well with my daughter next year. Thanks for the links to the PLL.

  6. I'm trying to decide what to use next year. I don't really want to use FLL. I'm trying to decide between:

    Growing with Grammar

    Easy Grammar 2

Rod and Staff 2 at half pace.

Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions? Also, will I need to add a writing program? I do like WWE so I may use that?

    Thanks so much
