  1. Many thanks to Debbie & Sebastian.

I'll try to order the 2010 macaw book through Pearson. Before making an order, I would like to know what are you using for labs?

Pearson/ LabPaq /Quality Science OR Illustrated Guide to Home Biology Experiments? Which one do you vote for?

( PS: This is the first time I'm trying to use Pearson. I'm not really a biology person but do have little knowledge to some extent in  physics/chemistry/math. I'm also concerned if I could help my son with the labs using teacher resources or not. With highly experienced moms in this forum, I'm positive I'll get excellent feedback.)

    Thanks again!

  2. Did any one try to order the latest edition from Pearson? From k12oasis pearson website, I see MILLER LEVINE BIOLOGY 2015 TEXAS STUDENT EDITION + DIGITAL COURSEWARE 8-YEAR LICENSE GRADE 9/10 (ISBN 9780133303803) available with the status "In Print". {Is that the Macaw book ??}  When I do a search from the main pearson website with the same isbn #, I did not get any results. Is the latest edition 2010 (isbn10: 0133690091) or 2015? I'm looking for complete student package with the lab books, study guides, virtual labs etc. along with teacher resources. If you please provide the ISBNs, that would be great help. Also, what's the difference between foundation, on level and core editions? I appreciate your feedback. Thanks.

  5. I'm good at math & science but not in literature..

How to teach my kids literature :

about allegory, metaphor, Christian symbolism, the influence that culture and literature have on each other, the difference between quality literature and popular literature, the influence that culture and literature have on each other, the difference between quality literature and popular literature, and other age-appropriate literary and English language concepts and skills. Composition as well as study of the history and ideas that influenced author's writing.

My Kids are good at reading fiction, non-fiction , classic books. I want them to realize & learn about literature as they read literature.

    Your help is appreciated.

  7. Thank you for all.

I have 2 reasons to explain for choosing books instead of software. As Beth said, my 9 yr old son also cannot handle timed programs. Also, in the typing software that we tried, I noticed there is sudden increase in

difficulty level and my son is losing interest totally. I want to keep the fire burning before it cools off. I need something that takes the child gradually to different levels.

    Again, thanks to all.

  8. I am considering to buy a weighted keys keyboard for my 8 yr. old son. He learned the basics from 61 key touch sensitive keyboard. I found Yamaha DGX530 88-key Portable Grand Keyboard for $500 from Costco. When I approached a piano teacher, she said the student needs to have weighted keyboard or piano for practice.

Is anyone using the above model? Any reviews? Or any other suggestions ?

    Thanks.

  9. I have student texts for 4th grade Abeka science books:

Developing Good Health , code: 60984003, copyright 1998, second edition

    Understanding God's World , Code: 15067, copyright 1989

How to find the teacher text codes for the above books? I searched on google, but in vain.

    Please advice.

    Thanks.
