  1. Well, she did get a bedroom set as an early Christmas present.

She wants a bike, she outgrew her old one.

She loves subscription boxes and my mom gets her Boodle and IbBeautiful.

She pays for her own subscription to Owl Crate.

I purchased a 3 month subscription for another tween box.

There are a TON of books she wants, but at about 7 dollars each we can handle that.

A couple of vet games for her DS.

    A couple of board/card games.

    Some arts and crafts.

socks from Sock It to Me

    Some items from etsy shops

    A couple of magazine subscriptions

    Clothes..

  2. Can I vent?

I'm in pain. Big pain. I'm allergic to almost all pain meds. I'm nauseated, vomiting, have heartburn, no appetite, and goodness, the pain. We think it's a gallstone in the bile duct. I don't even have a gallbladder, for goodness' sake!

My doc is in Africa. So I saw an NP, who ordered an MRCP (special MRI). The results are in, but NP hasn't called me back to tell me. I left her a message this am, and the receptionist told me the results had just arrived. I hope she'll call at lunch time.

I'm in pain. I hate waiting. This stinks.

On top of the gallstone, I have an ovarian cyst issue and a kidney stone that hasn't dropped yet. Something to anticipate!

    I want to cry.

    Oh Spryte.

I have had kidney stones in the past and I consider it number ten on my pain scale. Above child birth. I have also had a blood cyst when I was 15 and ended up having to have a tube an ovary removed. I have no words...I can not imagine the agony you are in...

  3. I'm glad your mom saw a doctor finally. Sorry it was frustrating, though :(

My vent is that The Marvelous Flying Marco is waitlisted for almost every OT/ST clinic I can find (that also does natural environment). If I want to take him TO the clinics, he can get therapies immediately... but he isn't the only one with upcoming necessary appointments, and the last recommendation was 20+ hours weekly of therapies for him. There is no way I can swing that, in a clinic setting outside the home, AND keep up with DD15 and DS7's schoolwork and their doctor's appointments (DS7 has his yearly specialist visits coming up soon, too).

But, he really, really needs especially the feeding therapy. He's down to about 2 or 3 things he will eat (as in, he would rather cry in hunger than eat anything else) and I feel trapped, so I'll probably end up doing the clinic sessions instead, even though I'm really hesitant to start it in-clinic for several (relatively valid) reasons.

My heart goes out to you. My husband was out of state when I went through all this but I do not have all the young children that you have. I am praying for your situation.

  4.

Ugh!  This sounds far more horrid than just a vent.   :grouphug:  Do you have help for daily activities?  Since hundreds of people saw it, are a few stepping up to help (if you want/need it)?

Luckily, my husband is local and is taking Tuesday off for my doctor apt and any others I may have. He took our daughter in before work yesterday for a doctor's appointment, picked up her meds and some grocery items, picked up groceries, etc. He is usually working non-stop or out-of-state working non-stop, so it is much appreciated. Our neighbors across the street have been phenomenal. Bringing me meals here and there, keeping Meg occupied, etc. He even drove me to the hospital after it happened. Church is new and we have sporadically attended, however we like it. I am upset though that I had asked if there was a wheelchair available and the person who was in charge of that never got back to me. Trying not to have that be an excuse to not go to church. Thanks for the concern. I get so tired of it. All the time it is something and it is me. tendonitis, prickly heat, bedbugs, stroke, broken and dislocated ankle and that has been the last ll months. I am fed up!!! The Loritab barely works...sorry I am really cranky from the pain.

  5. I broke my ankle....the one that has posterior tibial tendonitis....and this same ankle that is broke on the right side of my left ankle, is dislocated on the left. I am in horrific pain, like nauseated with pain. The Loritab helps a bit, but still it hurts like the dickens. It happened at church in front of hundreds of people. My husband was out of state. The ER had a seven and a half hour waiting time. I am waiting to get in to my orthopedist.

  6. We love Epcot!

    Epcot is my husband's fave.

I like Magic Kingdom best, then Epcot.

Meg loves Animal Kingdom the most, then Epcot.

We always plan for a couple of days there. :)

And if you drink alcohol at all, try the Grey Goose slushies in France. I don't really drink but I do drink those GG slushies. :cheers2:

  7. I am a planner. Heck, I dare say I sometimes enjoy the planning more than the trip to anywhere.

You really must plan to do Disney, even if just a little to ride the best rides and eat at table services.

We don't even park hop. We are at a park for that day and that is it.

We use disboards but be careful, they can be rabid. Seriously.

We also use allears.net. It is great for up-to-date menus and tips.

    Have fun!!!

  8. People chewing with their mouths open.

People filled with hatred of those different from them whether it be socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, gender, race, age, religion, body size, etc.

You can feel the hatred emanating from these people even online or over the phone.

    Line cutters.

    Inconsiderate drivers. Inconsiderate people period.

  9. Not well.

I had lost thirty pounds and since my second stroke in December, I have gained 16 lbs back.

I have a tendency to be a stress eater and hedonistic.

I can't really exercise either because I have posterior tibial tendinitis. I am also going through menopause. Yay me!

    *heavy sigh*

So, I go to my weightwatchers meeting tomorrow and we shall see. I am not hopeful.

I am drinking my water and taking my meds.

My sleep was pretty golden, now it is not. Need to get back to track on that.

My orthopedist did say I could swim and bike but I don't have a pool or a bike.

I am joining the gym in September, no joining fee and I am getting a bike for Christmas.

I see my doctor later this month and my orthopedist and start back with PT.

I have some issues since my stroke and I need to work on my organization of these things.

Working on getting my eating under control. I have been starving all the time-stress.

  10. Excellent ideas here. Emily passed in 2003.

One of the things that touched my heart was that a lady from church sent me a memory card a year after her passing.

That an acquaintance would remember and share in my grief...

I second all the other posters.

  11. Barbecue beef from Aldi's, only takes three minutes to heat. Aldi's seasoned fries on a baking sheet, I think twenty minutes and Aldi's coleslaw. Fresh fruit too.

I usually have shredded chicken and crumbled ground beef in my freezer, I just have to thaw it out.

So I can make smoky beef and brown rice chili, or spaghetti, sloppy joes, etc.

With the chicken, I can make chicken pot pie in a pinch.

I also usually have the ingredients for chicken broccoli cheesy rice mushroom onion casserole. :p

My Meg likes it for lunch sans the chicken.

  12. Like others have said, get passes for both parks.

Get there EARLY or HP will be SWAMPED.

We went for a day to MK then three days to US and then a night at MNSSHP.

We stayed off property on the day of arrival and day of MK, then checked in to Cabana Bay. It is fabulous! Well worth the money. You get in an hour early and the hotels at US are much nicer than Disney. We also did a night at Blue Man Group, it was awesome.

Harry Potter, wow, I have so much to say! It is breathtakingly themed. The rides are exciting and well detailed on par with Disney. We had the butter beer frozen and hot, both are good but the hot butter beer was the best. Eating at the Three Broomsticks and The Leaky Cauldron was great. If it is in the budget go for it. Meg was picked for a wand and she was so excited. On one side they have a shop with the mystic creatures and she bought a pink pygmy....she adopted it actually and they do a little show for it, really cute. They have scheduled mini-shows on both sides and they are very good too. The ice cream shop is the bomb. She loved riding the griffin roller-coaster, we were to scared to ride the Gringott's bank ride. The train ride is cool, be sure to do it both ways. We had our picture taken at the double-decker bus with the talking shrunken head, haha. We walked around the rest and did the ET ride, MIB, etc and some of the shows. The ones with the retired animal actors is great. We also liked the battle between Poseidon and the fire guy. Loved the easy pace and not having to rush to places although Disney is number one in my heart. Oh, she also grabbed Bernie's Botts, a chocolate frog and some kind of love potion, :p It was quite magical and we were so happy to get to go.

My husband travels still just not as much so the nights not at Cabana Bay were free with hotel points. Those days we stayed at Comfort Inn with a free full, hot breakfast which kept us satisfied until an early dinner/late lunch.

it had been awhile since we had been to Disney and Meg felt it would be too immature plus we are both HP fans. She loved HP but she told me she is a Disney girl. So next October we are going to Disney for the whole trip and doing MNSSHP, it was the best celebration, better than MVMCP. The parade with the headless horseman, the candy TONS and GOOD STUFF, the decor, the fireworks, the shows. Her faves are AK and Epcot and ours are MK and Epcot. We will probably go back the year after to ride the new Kong ride when lines have died down some. Also a trip to Washington DC, still saving up hotel points for that one.

You will have a fantabulous time! I am so excited for your family.  :001_wub:

  13. I was a Brownie and a Girl Scout when I was young and Meghan was a Daisy. We found out about AHG a few years ago and it has been quite the blessing for us. Meghan has been an Explorer for three years and is a Pioneer this coming year. They do so many things  and are an incredibly supportive group. We camp and go on field trips and do service works. Their patches cover many different areas (you need to earn a patch in each of the six areas) --Heritage Frontier ex. Citizenship and Government, Caring For My Environment, World Heritage, etc.Family Living Frontier--Home Care and Repair, Money Management, Stick Shifts and Safety Belts, etc. Arts Frontier-Textile Arts, Music Appreciation, Photography, etc. Outdoor Skills Frontier-Archery, Outdoor Cooking, Outdoor Skills, etc. Personal Well-Being Frontier--Book Adventurer, Emergency Preparedness, Physical Fitness, etc. Science and Technology Frontier-Aviation, Engineering, Geology, Woman Inventors, Space Exploration, etc. They also have a sports pin program-basketball, martial arts, running, soccer, etc. Some badges you work on as a troop and others you work on independently, your choice. To me, GS was always about the cookies, we did not do much else.
