I don't use an alarm unless I have somewhere to be. I get up around 8:30 and my son is usually up right before me. I wish I was a morning person but it takes me forever to get going in the morning and I have to drag myself out of bed. Hopefully one day I will be.:001_smile:

I receive the magazine Mother Earth News and I love reading about all the cheap and natural ideas they have in there. I have often gone to my husband with ideas from the magazine only to have him point out that "that isn't up to code in CA" :glare: Very frustrating!
We are trying to cut out what we can and we plan to garden this summer and can the extras. We too are feeling the pinch and hoping it will all work out.

I almost couldn't watch the whole thing. :001_huh: How sad! I hope he gets help.

We used Adventures last year for my 2nd grader and he is doing ECC this year as a 3rd grader. I thought adventures was okay for a 2nd grader but he hated all the writing. I am leaning towards Mystery of History for him next year for the 4th grade. I have it already and it looks great!

My son is in 3rd grade and he just took the CAT test. California doesn't require it but I wanted an idea of how he is doing. I also like the idea of him getting used to testing.

We are also using Singapore. My son is doing 2A and is almost done with it. It takes him forever to do it too. He hates math though. I notice him daydreaming or tapping his pencil or he starts talking to me and I constantly have to remind him to get back to work. Drives me up the wall!
Wish I had ideas for you but I'm in the same boat!

We are doing level 2A right now and I am not a math person but it is going okay. I use the HIG and I can't imagine doing it without. I follow it almost exactly. I also got the guides from MFW that they made themselves. They are pretty much just a checklist of things to do on each day if you don't have the HIG. They were $6.00 each I think. I use them too just because I like to check things off and see how far we have come and how far we have left to go. :bored: Thats just me though. :001_smile:
