Gel stains are fine for furniture and as long as you realize that they are more like paint than stain and use multiple thin coats.
As prairiewindmama stated, it's not good for floors unless a heavy duty poly coat is used over it.

Very typical north Alabama. I shop in the morning when there are few shoppers, so we (customers and store employees) have been known to have group discussions on a variety of topics from movies, the best cat litter, and how we wish we could get more of that delicious Joy Bakery cinnamon bread.

Trinqueta is my dd's board name. The book is Geometry by Jurgensen, Brown, Jurgensen.
Oh boy, that's what happens when I post before coffee!

Jurgensen and Trinqueta, thanks! I had not heard of these two!

He does have access to class notes and tests. I will likely follow the class text and augment with youtube videos for difficult concepts.
I was just hoping to find another good curriculum to examine.:)
I love AOPS; DH and I both love working through their books, but I might have to put it aside for this class.
Thanks for your help!

Hello! DS14 (rising 9th grader) is determined to study Honors Geometry 1 this summer so that he can test out of it and go straight into Honors Geometry 2 in the fall.
What are considered the "best" high school geometry books?
Since I am a curriculum junkie, here is what I already own:
- Art of Problem Solving Introduction to Geometry
- Chalkdust Geometry
- Geometry for Enjoyment and Challenge, New Edition, McDougal Littell/Houghton Mifflin
I love Art of Problem Solving; ds completed AOPS Prealgebra and Algebra 1 classes. I think AOPS is brilliant curriculum, but when ds transitioned from AOPS Algebra to Dolciani Algebra (the book used at his school), he had trouble shifting his mindset and thought that there was too much busy work and focus on "stupid exercises" rather than mathematical thinking. Yes, he said that about Dolciani Algebra, the gold standard of algebra textbooks. He eventually grew to appreciate and enjoy Dolciani, but the shift was a bit painful. So, I am concerned that if he uses AOPS Geometry, he might actually be less likely to successfully test out of Geometry 1.
The book used at his school is Geometry for Enjoyment and Challenge.
Are there any other wonderful high school geometry 1 textbooks I am missing out on? Is there a text that is considered the gold standard for high school geometry?
Thanks in advance for any help or advice!

TMI alert!!!
I didn't have a tear, but my ob/gyn had to cut through the perineum and open the anal canal to deliver the baby. Emergent situation, and the doctor explained while she was doing it.

A Seresto flea collar for the cat; and it arrived in USED condition! When I opened the metal container, I noticed that the collar was not sealed in plastic, and the lid had "Fluffy 4/5/2018" written on it in felt tip pen. So, I looked closely in the collar; it had been sized and trimmed, the inside was discolored with something reddish brown, and there was a clump of cat hair on it!!!
Sold by amazon, not a third party seller. I'm guessing it was returned and whoever processed it did not bother to open the container.

I agree with the others; not liking or responding to posts reflects how they feel about facebook, not how they feel about you.

If it's just a few weeks or less until surgery, my advice is to just enjoy the ice cream until you can resume taking the medication.
However, if the ice cream consumption is upsetting you (and it sounds so), then you might consider calling the surgeon, explain what is going on, and ask if you can resume taking this one med.

Lots of poison ivy here...Got it while pregnant with ds14; the rash completely covered one arm and part of another. I worked in the er, and one of the docs gave me loratadine and several H2 blockers, which are not commonly prescribed for poison ivy but helped immensely.

Looks gorgeous! I have been researching paint, and the Miss Mustard Seed milk paints are very high quality.
Did you put a wax or poly coat on the cabinets? It's not necessary with milk paint, but some people do it anyways.

Went skiing in Wyoming. Checked the forum every evening to see if it was up.

Why don’t we start a reddit sub forum to use while the forum is down? Reddit won’t know what to do with all of us women and homeschoolers!

Other posters have made great suggestions, so I will just add that I had severe anxiety and insomnia when I was anemic.

Thank you very much! There are several wonderful weather and road conditions apps/sites, but the best help is from people who live in the area. :wub:It is supposed to be 27F here tonight, so I suspect there will be some frozen spots. Note that we are about 60 miles NW of DC, though.
My travel companions have been AmericanWx Mid-Atlantic Subforum, Accuweather Trip Planner, Virginia DOT, and NWS Mobile EDD v40, and of course my phone’s gps.
The NWS Mobile EDD was so helpful that I am posting the link. It’s experimental and just a bit quirky but a wonderful resourse:

Oh, and I just ate the most amazing beet salad and pistachio crème brûlée at McGinty's Public House.

Last question I promise!
Is the water left on the roads likely to freeze overnight, or will traffic and brine help the roads either stay liquid or dry out?
-
DH and I arrived just north of D.C. about a hour ago, and will drive home in the morning as long as the water on the roadways doesn't freeze overnight.
Thank you VDOT for snowplows and brine, and for the great website with information on weather and road conditions! :) The interstate never became impassable even during heavy snow and mountain terrain.
Thanks for all your help!
