  1. Thank you so much for the info Hive Mind Queen Bee! I will look into it further.
  2. I heard on the radio about a Matsu Homeschooling center, do you know anything about it? I've been trying to find out the requirements for homeschooling in Alaska and I would like to find a homeschooling group to socialize my boy now and then. We're going to be living pretty far out in the woods so we wont always be able to get into town. And he's only 14 months old now so I have some time to figure it all out but I've had a difficult time finding information online.
  3. Any parents out there from Wasilla!? I'm trying to find a good pediatrician in the area.
  4. HELLO!! :hurray: My family will be moving (from Maine) into your area at the end of next month. My husband and 1-year-old son will be living off of the Yentna River. We will be traveling into Wasilla for supplies, mail etc. I'm trying to find information on homeschooling or playgroups in the area so that I can find some friends for my little boy. If you have any information at all- even about places in the area for kids I would greatly appreciate it!
  5. My family will soon be moving to Alaska and I am hoping to find some friends for my 1 year old son. I was wondering if anyone had any information on homeschooling groups in the Matanuska Susitna Borough or more specifically the Wasilla area. We will be living near the Yentna River but Wasilla will most likely be the town we travel to for supplies. Any information on play-groups, homeschooling groups, or kids gyms would be greatly appreciated since my number one concern (apart from bears) is that my son wont have any friends.
  6. Thank you everyone for responding! I found a lot of good pointers to take into consideration. We're hoping to make this move as smooth as possible for my little tike. We have about ten weeks left before the big move and we're trying to be as prepared as we possibly can for such a huge life change :) Thank you Nan in Mass for all the support!
