Prima Latina and Latina Christiana - I liked the layout of the books, but the cd and dvd set drove me nuts. I love accents, but not with Latin. Ds was bored with it.
I agree! That accent is killing it for us. I'm getting ready to sell it.

I appreciate your candor. I really like Ambleside Online and have many of the books, but I'm having a hard time with scheduling. Sometimes I just want a curriculum that I can just open and go, check off boxes and stop feeling like I'm not doing enough or the "right" thing. Know what I mean?

I'm thinking about using MFW's CTG and using AO for the book basket. I really love CM, but trying to put together a schedule is not my thing. I'm trying to find a curriculum that uses CM principles that I can add our AO books to.

If it weren't for people like you, I'd be lost!! :)
Thank you for doing this!

what I've been looking for!
Can someone help me figure out where to start?
My son is 10.5. He reading and vocabulary skills are probably at the gifted level. BUT .... his grammar and writing and handwriting skills are atrocious!
I've been to the website but my A.D.D. brain is having trouble figuring it all out. What do I start with?
Thank you!

I probably need to start using TOG before I decide.
-
I've been thinking about trying a unit of TOG to see if I like it. I want an entire unit and not the 3 week trial so I can get a real feel for the curriculum.
I was going to try Y1 U3 because I have a few of the books already.
My question is: Do I need TOG's Writing Aids or can I use FLL and WWE since I already have them? My dc are 9 and 6. I want to use whatever covers the basics quickly, easily and with the least amount of pain ;)
Thanks!

planner, would TOG not be for me? I've looked at it and I've downloaded their sample two-weeks and it seems confusing to me. I have ADD and planning is extremely difficult for me. I'm afraid I will be overwhelmed with all the choices and try to do too much and end up doing nothing.
Right now we do SL but I end up not doing some of the books I don't like and adding others and it ends up not really being SL after a few weeks.

I tore them out of the book, put them somewhere, decided not to use MFW yet and now that I am ready I can't find those two student pages. They have something to do with the Creation lessons. The tm says to refer to the workbook for directions. If anyone has done MFW kindergarten and can summarize what's on pgs 1 and 2 I would be very grateful!

I guess maybe what I want is to use the readers and read-alouds from SL with TOG. I'm trying to figure out which Year and Unit TOG I could incorporate my core 1+2 or 3 SL readers into.
-
My ds is 9.5 and we are doing SL core 3 and I also have Core 1+2 that we only did about 6 weeks of last year.
I've been reading a lot about TOG and I've been wondering how or if any of the TOG units correlate to either SL core 1+2 or core 3. Or am I just asking for problems and too many choices. I always think I want things laid out for me but I usually end up tweaking.
Any thoughts? Thanks!

He is reading on an 8th grade level and is a natural speller. BUT, his handwriting is atrocious and it is like pulling teeth getting him to write. It takes him 20 minutes to copy a single sentence and I have to force him into not writing in all caps. It is so frustrating getting him to write that I have neglected LA almost entirely.
I really need help finding something to use for handwriting, grammar and creative writing.
What about FLL and/or WWE? What exactly do they cover and what ages are they for?
help!
