  1. I appreciate your candor. I really like Ambleside Online and have many of the books, but I'm having a hard time with scheduling. Sometimes I just want a curriculum that I can just open and go, check off boxes and stop feeling like I'm not doing enough or the "right" thing. Know what I mean?

  2. I've been thinking about trying a unit of TOG to see if I like it. I want an entire unit and not the 3 week trial so I can get a real feel for the curriculum.

I was going to try Y1 U3 because I have a few of the books already.

My question is: Do I need TOG's Writing Aids or can I use FLL and WWE since I already have them? My dc are 9 and 6. I want to use whatever covers the basics quickly, easily and with the least amount of pain ;)

    Thanks!

  3. planner, would TOG not be for me? I've looked at it and I've downloaded their sample two-weeks and it seems confusing to me. I have ADD and planning is extremely difficult for me. I'm afraid I will be overwhelmed with all the choices and try to do too much and end up doing nothing.

Right now we do SL but I end up not doing some of the books I don't like and adding others and it ends up not really being SL after a few weeks.

  4. My ds is 9.5 and we are doing SL core 3 and I also have Core 1+2 that we only did about 6 weeks of last year.

I've been reading a lot about TOG and I've been wondering how or if any of the TOG units correlate to either SL core 1+2 or core 3. Or am I just asking for problems and too many choices. I always think I want things laid out for me but I usually end up tweaking.

    Any thoughts? Thanks!

  5. He is reading on an 8th grade level and is a natural speller. BUT, his handwriting is atrocious and it is like pulling teeth getting him to write. It takes him 20 minutes to copy a single sentence and I have to force him into not writing in all caps. It is so frustrating getting him to write that I have neglected LA almost entirely.

I really need help finding something to use for handwriting, grammar and creative writing.

What about FLL and/or WWE? What exactly do they cover and what ages are they for?

    help!

    Ann
