Maybe try something like time4learning as a supplement? It is kind of like a video game online and it might make him enjoy it more?

I don't.

yay for FRIDAY!
-
I expect the kids to be respectful of each other, me, and our school things.
-
Fridays here are our make up days for the most part.
-
Our homeschool group does field trips on Friday, so I tend to use them as a field trip/hands on project day. It's when we pull ut science kits or art supplies and go to town, if we're not physically going to town:). That might change as she gets older, but for now, it works.
Never understood why people say that until I moved to a small town with no chick fil a or target lol! We have to go to town all the time!

Subbing. We HATE Saxon 5/4 :(

I think we are going to start reading the series for our next read aloud :) My kids are 4-9 year olds

What do Fridays generally look like at your homeschool?

I think the 15 year old does too but he acts like he isn't listening, LOL.

I dont think you could EVER read too much! I am really relaxed, so I would continue to read as long as yall are all enjoying it. I would do math first then read. If you can fit anything else in, do it. Math and reading are my #1's!

:iagree: I would want their free time to be at least one large chunk - as in 3 hours at a time - and not a little here and a little there. They won't be able to get into intense play or boredom with little windows of free time.
:iagree:

I just do what I can and then stop for the day :)

Thats what we do for the most part. I do supplement with some workbooks and stuff, but its mainly reading and journaling for my 4th grader

Ours is also in the basement. I love having it in a separate room, but I do miss having windows (which is why I painted it bright colors).
I love that thing holding your books! Where did you find that?
