My DD took PreChem through Landry Academy's Summer Intensive (3 weeks in May); she had Mr. Leingang, and his class was great. She is now taking Chemistry through Landry Academy; Mrs. Prieskorn is teaching it. It is another great class. I would recommend both teachers and/or classes.

I'm 46. I had two pulled over 10 years ago, but the dentist said I'd have to go to the oral surgeon to have the other two removed. Needless to say, I haven't went yet.

Thanks, Taryn.
I was wondering about Essay Practitioner especially, and you answered that question for me.

If you've used either of these outsourced classes, would you please share your opinion about the class and the curriculum itself? We have a relationship with a teacher that is offering LToW 2 (my daughter completed LToW 1 two years ago), but I'm drawn to Attuneup as well.
Thanks in advance!

Just wondering...
Do you round grades up or down to the nearest percentage point (see example 1), or do you round all scores down (see example 2)?
Example 1: 98.49% would become 98%, while 98.50% would become 99%
Example 2: 98.09%, 98.49%, 98.99% would all be 98%.

Would he be interested in music therapy?

Each late spring and into summer she could also do narrative (portfolio) assessments if your state allows this verification of homeschooling success.

Thanks for sharing your experiences. I had a chance to look at it more thoroughly, and I, like all of you, was impressed.

Thanks, Debbie and Sarah.

Thanks to each of you. That was very helpful.

Hi.
I have some older Bob Jones University Press resources that were given to me years ago, and that I never used. I would like to pass them on to someone who might use them, rather than put them in the trash. Do you know of a place where I can list these items?

For those of you who have used this, did you like it? Can you teach this with just the teacher's manual or student text, or are both needed? Are the dvds supplementary?
Thanks for your help!

The Rise and Fall of Mount Majestic has an adorable 10-year-old main character named Persimmony. We enjoyed it!

Thanks, Charleigh and FaithManor.
From what you've said, it seems to me that admissions officers are used to seeing AP courses without scores.
Neither of my older children took AP classes; they chose DE. I'm just thinking about my options for dd. She will probably take the DE route as well. However, I was thinking she would take a couple of AP classes before DE, and I was wondering whether taking these classes without testing afterward was a problem. Thanks for your insight.

I've seen posts that mention students taking AP classes, knowing that at the end of the year they won't take the test. I am thinking that would be a red flag for college admissions officers. Am I wrong about this? If your child takes an AP class without taking the test, do you record the class as AP on the transcript (and, obviously, not show an AP score), or do you record the class as Honors? Please educate me!

If you buy semesters early with Landry Academy, you can get a very good deal on price. For example, I went in with other moms in a group buy for semesters of the 2016-2017 school year; we each got semesters for $58. You have to buy the semesters a year in advance, but, if you know you'll use them, its a great deal ($116 for a whole year of class).

We definitely need to replace our old piano. Which upright piano brands should we consider, and which ones should we avoid?

Would you mind sharing the university? I'm beginning to research online DE providers, and geography is one of the courses that I am hoping my daughter will be able to take her first year.
