[History for gr 5-8: what do you use?]

I Third History Oddessey. We are using Ancients 2 also and love it.

[So who's a planner and who's not?]

I only plan what curriculum I am going to buy.Then we do it.I used to plan days but i couldn't get it done so I just do what we can each day and do it till it is done.I am going to try a loop so I can get to things like art and music we always run out of time.So that's the plan!!:lol:

[How many of you homeschool year 'round?]

We do year round but summer is more low key and we do more projects and outdoor things.Nature walks, swimming lessons, baseball, and the projects that got put on the back burner but we still want to do.

[Do you live near the area where you grew up?]

I live 1 mile away from the house I grew up in. My dad still lives in the old home stead I moved away once and came back 15 yrs. ago the older I get the more I want to stay close.

History Odessey for sure .

[We've already been through SOTW once..what else is good?]

We are going to use history odyssey for 5th grade next year Ancients level 2. They have a great try before you buy.You get like 6 or 7 lessons I am going to get the rest of the e-book it looks great.

and we enjoy it The lessons are short and gave me the confidence to teach it I was afraid but we are learning together .

We really do own ours.Hubby paid it off early put in extra when he could, Now I am so glad he did.One less worry.

What sold me is my dd was using the trial on there website to see if she would like it and she did not want to stop!! This have never happened with math so we are ordering tt5 this week and my dd can't wait.I want to start to get her to work more independently and I think this will help.

I think it is great when I want to just print and go for the day.I enjoy it when I don't have any plans or don't want to make any plans.Gives me a break when I need it.Change of pace for kids also.

I have to make lifestyle changes due to diabetes. I have started walking 1 mile Mon.- Fri. and started the Atkins diet I had to stop taking the pill the dr. gave me cause it was making my sugar go way down when I exercised.Hubby said The doc maybe didn't think I would do so well with diet and exercise so gave me the pill just in case!!So I am feeling better except I had my period at the beginning of Nov. and at the end UGH!!

W have one Teddy bear boy hamster and one Dwarf female in separate cages. The boy is much more easy going and loving than the girls they are more nervous.Teddy has never bitten anyone but Tater Tot the little girl bites if you try to get her.You have to wait for her to climb out of the cage onto your hand then she is fine.They both have there own personality but we love hammies Hubby and I had them when we were kids so we had to get some for ours! Enjoy.

I was diagnosed last Tuesday as t2 and I went to the library and got the book Diabetes for Dummies and some menu plans for diabetics and they have really help me to understand better My doctor gave me medicine said lose weight and start exercising and come back in 3 months to get weighed!So I felt pretty lost till I went to the library and WebMD.I hope all goes well I am finally feeling better.

is a lifesaver around here.I suffer with seasonal depression so if I feel I can't do it I can use this for a few weeks and then I don't feel bad about not doing school.DD also likes the change for a while too.

Hi I am 50 now and good news my hot flashes have disappeared as fast as they came!! I am so happy.I wish I had thinning hair It stopped growing so fast on legs but now I have to get rid of my beard and mustache that want to grow!!! :lol:
