  1. Hi all,

Does anybody use OM Algebra 1/2, Algebra 1, or Geometry? I am trying to figure out what you get with the course. It just says Saxon Algebra 1/2. Does it come with a syllabus? They do not have the syllabus listed separately like they do with all their other subjects.

I am not a big fan of Saxon, but if the syllabus is organized and helpful like it is with other subjects, I would consider trying it.

This is NOT the online course, just the printed material from the bookstore.

    Thanks

  2. Does anybody know where I can get an actual listing of the contents in Level G and H? I have so many science kits already, I may just own most of the stuff needed, LOL. I can get the text and tm set at CBD on sale and I am wondering if I really need the kits? Does anyone own these kits that wouldn't mind sharing what is in the kit?

    Thanks!!

  3. We just switched my daughter to this and she loves it so far. We are doing the last two units of 8-10 and then continuing onto 9-11. I do have the entire poetry unit you asked about and it looks wonderful. We are currently using the lit unit for Akimbo and Sadako, followed by Holes, and finally Charlotte in Giverny...given her love of art, I expect the last one to be her fave. I can say the Africa and Asia study that accompanies the lit unit is WONDERFUL. Intriguing questions, fun hands on stuff ( but not overdone) and lots of things I could think up on my own, but I just dont have the time. This seems to be what we need right now and we are very happy with it. She is really working independently except for the read aloud portion and when she narrates to me. The parent questions are insightful and have the answers...so if you dont have time to read every book, you can look at the suggested answers. We like it! I think it would be worth at try for you:) Good Luck.

  4. Hi,

I received concept one for ms ds, age 5. This is right up his alley...lots of hands on projects, learning about the environment and animals. I wouldnt say this is for gifted 5 year olds at all...more for average 5 but definitely creative, fun learning ideas. Not really anything I couldnt have thought up myself....but I dont have time anymore to think this stuff up, LOL...I am guessing he will love this.

I can let you know in a few weeks. We are supplementing with Moving with Math and CLE Learning to Read, along with a few other things. I only have concept one for now..and depending on how he likes it, I will order more for next year. This does not teach reading or phonics, but I knew that from the website.

Cant wait to start...will post pics and info once we have gotten a bit into this. Good luck with your decisions. Just to let you know, MBTP offers free shipping and discounts in March according to their forums on the website:)
