  1. Does anyone use Highlands Latin School/Memoria Press materials pretty much as planned? I have been looking for years and am getting to the point where I'd just like a planned plan. I'll have a 3rd grader and a 7/6th grader. We'd combine Latin and Christian Studies, but I like the idea of guidance, accountabilty and independence that the lesson plans might offer. We've been using Saxon for Math , so I'd stick with that.

    Here's the details:

  2. What do I do with all of this cabbage? My husband brought home an industrial size bag of shredded cabbage....now what? I'm thinking soup...does anyone have a favorite recipe? I am on South Beach right now, so something warm and low carb would be fantastic. It doesn't have to be soup though. We are "hate to waste that perfectly good food" kind of people...and we like cabbage. There is just ALOT of cabbage.

    Cindy, who is :bigear::bigear:

  3. Here's how we do 3 Kings Day. I have usually put away all of the Christmas decorations...except for baby Jesus and kings from the creche. We bake a small cake ( this year will be gingerbread). I attach a crown (playmobil) to a ribbon and tuck this along with an empty ribbon for each person into the cake (after it is baked!). Whoever pulls out the crown gets to be the king and then serves the cake! We also pop English Christmas crackers (bought on sale :D after Christmas) and everyone wears a crown and messes about with those silly trinkets.

  4. This looks so AWESOME!!! I was wondering if anyone is thinking of using this book multi-level....

    I like doing our Bible studies as a family. Is there any extras to beef it up for older kids?? (mainly my 6th grader.)

    I'm interested in that as well Faithe....I went ahead and ordered all three books. I have a 2nd grader and a 6th grader.

  5. I, for one, would have never even opened this thread if it hadn't been for the spot of wine I was having....so glad I did! Didn't know there would be such a Friday night :cheers2: party! I agree...very old, as in old as dirt, even older than I am and certainly older than this wine ! As in no one on earth knows and those that think they know certainly do not agree...as in there is only One who knows... and it is not me...and I am okay with that ...

    :cheers2:

  6. I am right there with you (44yo)! No one believes me because I have always had very thick hair......but it is falling out at an alarming rate! I have had all kinds of bloodwork done (thyroid and hormonal function, etc..) but nothing to indicate any problems. Looking for relief as well as sometimes it sends me into a freak-out.....which probably isn't good for my stress level.

  7. DD found some caterpillars on the parsley so we brought them in to put in one of those butterfly-grow-things. There were 3 and then there were....2. One seemed to have disappeared or escaped. Well today we found it....building its cocoon on the side a construction paper pack in the school room. What'll I do?? What'll I do?!?:bigear::bigear::bigear::bigear:
