  1. We school from Labor Day to Memorial Day with days off as we need them. But we're learning all the time. :001_smile: best, Susan
  2. Thanks for the ideas! I'll go take a look at some of them!
  3. We're relaxed Classical Waldorf-inspired homeschoolers. :001_smile: My 9 year old is craving science activities. We do lots of nature and lots of science book read-alouds, but could use some inspiration for hands-on science. What science kits have been educational/fun/not too gimicky for you all? It doesn't have to be "schooly" for us; just genuine learning and enjoyable. Also, is there anything out there using legos for engineering or whatnot? best, Susan
  4. I just spent some time on Classical House of learning. Very impressed. This may be what I'm looking for!
  5. I remember seeing the SOTW guides a number of years ago. I'll have to look again, but what seems to stick with me is more activities than books (especially quality chapter books). But I don't really have a good feel for the guides; maybe that's the road to take. We do lots of literature, so I guess we could just continue on with that, but if there's a literature-rich curriculum out there that pairs SOTW with age-appropriate non-twaddly lit, I'd love to have it! I suppose I'll spend some time putting it together this summer. Thanks for the resources suggested here so far. I'll go do some homework now! What an amazing resource the internet can be. best, Susan
  6. Hello all, I'm looking at using SOTW next year with my 1st and 4th grader (vol 1), and would like a "complete" sort of history/lit curriculum. Like Sonlight. I'm just a little disappointed that Sonlight doesn't use SOTW until middle school. I looked at History Odyssey, but it just didn't feel like it clicked. What else is there out there that's a put-together curriculum using SOTW for early elementary children. best, Susan:iagree:
