That fedora and I have traveled far together. The picture is from my last trip to Rome.

I think that there will be some kind of statist intervention that leaves the taxpayer on the hook. It may or may not actually help clear up the freeze in the interbank credit markets.

But it will leave the economy at the mercy of the next administration.

I've often said that if I have to live in a socialist country, it might as well be Italy.

Me? I'm looking seriously into expatriating with the family.

Glad to hear that. My gut tells me that, regardless of what does or doesn't come out of Washington, it's going to get pretty ugly, but it will never get as bad as it will be portrayed in the press.

I've been busy with work...an upside to the financial turmoil. :D
