Hi Hive mind well once again I am having a crisis. Here is the problem this year I took 5 AP's.AP Chem, AP Euro, AP World , AP Enviro, AP Lang. I had to register for AP Exams this week becasue I just moved a few days ago and I am running into problems. They do not offer AP Euro in my district and I do not feel ready for Chem. I have taken AP Chem test and bombed every one. So I am thinking of holding off and taking it my junior year with more practice and taking the SAT 2 this June. Not only would this give me more time to study the SAT 2 is supposed to be less in depth and their right. I took a practice test yeasterday and could more or less answer everything. So my new plan would be:

AP Enviro
AP World
SAT 2 Chem

Thank You so much I do have to start getting up early but I have trouble sleeping so I usually wake up like 9:30. I sit up in bed at that time but by the time breakfast is served and shower its at least 10:30. So I am going to set my alarm to 7:00 tomorrow. I am also going to write out a daily schedule thanks for the fast reply!

I need your advice because I was not sure wear to post this. Anyway I want to know tips the have helped your dd´s and ds´s be productive and do lots of work quickly. I have the next 3 months pretty much dedicated to only homeschooling and I need to catch up and get ahead. Plus I have AP exams I need to get my stuff together and make my mom proud :D. I have been very unproductive and I have a very very very short attention span. Did I mention short?:lol: Alright hive mind give me your best tips.

I actually do have a blog its in my signature and my website is terrenomar.com I had a blog that had like 7 months of post and the company I was using as a platform crashed and I lost 7 months of post´s. I almost cried :( Anyway I have a new blog and I am constantly updating. I am already researching things to do in the city I am going to which we are between a few now. Thank You all for your help. You have helped me see all the things I need to fix and that my portfolio is far from perfect now.

Hello well I really do not put the RV anywhere because I live in it full time. The boy scout thing seems cool I will look into it. As far as the national parks we dont stay in them long enough to do something. We also don't live near any.

I participate a lot in festivals and events when we go places. I also help my sister with her junior ranger programs I have a website terrenomar.com. You can see some of the stuff I have done there. Its ok that you have not read my blog its really not that great yet but its a work in progress. I was actually thinking of writing a book on my travel that I have already started. Trust me when you travel some of the things you see are unbelievable. Think of a 40 ft rig going down a highway with black ice in the middle of a blizzard using portable heaters to defrost our windshield so our dad could see. I love my life :lol: Also my mom works and we have one car so sometimes going places for extracurricular is not easy but I will try when we do our next move.

That definitely seems like a great book. I will request it from the library and try to finish it before our next move. I think the way I am going to do this is just make myself look a gypsy as possible and just run with it. :lol:. When in doubt with college admissions either go Einstein or bungee cord jumper.

Alright hive mind I promise this will be the last question for a while but this is something that has been gnawing away at me for quite some time. I have read how important extracurriculars are but now half way through my 10th grade year I have none :glare:. I am a traveler and have gone cross country twice and I am about again soon. I don't stay in places longer than 3 months but if I do stay longer I usually don't know. This means that I really can't commit to places. Also some of the areas I go don't really have any volunteer options by the time I get there since their high school kids are trying to get hours also. I will most likely start school next year and will probably be joining every club and sport so that I can enjoy my high school years.

Oh thank goodness. I was so worried now I will just study till my eyes fall out and I am sleep deprived and all will be good :lol:. I find AP classes suck the life out of you like AP Chem is doing to me now. I just finished 60 problems in 4 hours. The thing is these problems have 4 and 5 parts to them so it ends up being much more than 60 problems. Alright off to go "unschool" :001_smile:

Well I have decided to take the AP exam for these two without having taken the class meaning I will self study. I have already started and have a good background for both these classes. My question is will colleges mind if I start the actually courses March 1 take the exam May 9 and finish the courses by like July 30? I really don't have much of a choice here. I am shooting for top notch colleges.

I need to enroll in AP Bio and AP European history but can't right now. SO I am seriously self studying so that I can just take the exam and continue working on the course through summer. I will most likely enroll in these courses soon. Alright I hope this helps and PM me if you have any Q's

Hello. Ugh I feel your son´s pain I just saw a lesson from FLVS the other day and I almost died. The fake cheeriness was torturous. I have taken Spanish 2 and 3 with keystone and have done fairly well in the class. I got a 92 in Spanish 2 and I currently have like a 98 in Spanish 3. The lessons are hard in the sense that you really have to teach yourself. Maybe it would be a better fit for him. On a side not please make sure he knows how to use accentos. It will kill him if he does not learn that.

Oh I see its like a paragraph about what you learned. I think that's what I will have her do. She needs to practice writing and she has such pretty penmanship that I want her to keep improving. Unlike me who has writing that makes chicken scratch look like a work of art. :lol:

Hello well we just started Apologia Zoology 1 today and are loving it so far. My only question is what do you require them to do in the fascinating facts page. Also do you make them do it open or closed book she is in 4th grade. :001_smile:
p.s Sorry I know this question sounds really dumb but I don´t know where else to ask.

Yes she is it's what she is taking from time 4 writing right now a grammar course. She also reads 4-6 books a week.

phew Thanks for explaining that. The reason we wanted her to do American history is because we travel the U.S. in an RV and we thought we could incorporate that into her studies. We also plan to re enroll her in public school so we need something that follows their guidelines to some extent. She has already learned so much about world history that we thought it would be fun to change it up. But as far as actually using the program does anybody know some pros and cons. :001_smile:

Alrighty before I begin this look post I am sorry if it is messy but I am only stopping for a minute because I am doing AP Chemistry work right now. First of hello and i think your daughter has a lot of Spunk for doing this. Now the warning my 9th grade year was so terrible academically I did not adjust to the changes well at all (went from ps to online school, bought a motorhome sold the house and moved dross country to begin traveling, all ps friends completely ignored me and my online school is not very helpful its more like learn or drown). Anyway I took AP World History and it has taking me a little over a year to complete due to (big family problem, computer crashed and lost 50% worth of the class making me literally re do it, problems with the teacher and a very bad internet not allowing me to submit things for weeks at a time) I am actually still finishing up the course but I am have been doing the 10th grade stuff for some time.I will give you a glimpse of my schedule which I have been told will be good enough for Stanford ( I am not sure though)

Now that schedule is what I plan to take with a few tweaks but I think your daughter will be fine. I reccomend her getting the Princeton AP World Review book from the beggining and reviewing it the WHOLE year it will help a lot. She should take AP French next year and then she will have a free spot to fill with either music or dance.I think AP Enviro though is not a good choice though because that is seen as an "extra" I think she should go with Bio Honors could she take AP Music Theory and AP Art History as a later time? I am taking AP Enviro and its pretty easy because most of it is common sense but I have heard the exam is a bit intense. So I guess she could do it if she starts up with a normal science sequence. AP World included a lot of info on religion I mean a lot! She need to have EC's you need to make her look diverse but not spread thin could she a job teaching kiddies to dance? That would look good she needs to choose music or dance because I can not help you much if I do not know that it would change my whole answer.
ps tell her everything will be fine oh and also her tell her she is going to meet a lot of kids who say I am taking x,y and z all proud like tell her dont feel bad if its not part of her track trust me see what those kids are saying when she is packing up for Juliard in the Fall:lol:
