I really loved CLE, but both my children begged for MUS. I really wish they liked CLE as it was so easy to implement. They felt like they had way too much to do going from MUS to CLE. I don't understand why since even in MUS, I have them sometimes practice with 2 or 3 worksheets which they never complain about.
I've never used CLE, but I did use MUS for quite a few years. My children voiced the same concern about the # of problems with A Beka and Saxon after doing 2-3 sheets of MUS. Weird... :001_huh:

Are you suggesting that the canned milk/corn syrup formulas were made using sweetened condensed milk? My mother fed us the above formula made with evaporated milk, and my understanding is that that was the standard.
I was born in 1969 -- my mother tells me it was standard practice to make a formula w/ evaporated milk, corn syrup, and water.

Count me in...
I'm SO undecided...I thought it was just me with my fibro fog and my perimenopausal stupor. LOL :tongue_smilie:
I *thought* I knew, ordered some things and now have changed my mind. You'd think after having done this for 8+ years, I'd have it figured out by now....

My daughter completed Notgrass' Exploring World History last year...we did supplement w/ geography because we feel geography is important and best learned in context with history.
There is a yahoo group "Exploring America" for *all* Notgrass curriculum. In the "Files" section, someone has uploaded lesson plans for geography.
Hope that helps someone!!

If I were hsing again, I wouldn't even look at any sort of "national standards." The whole idea is ludicrous. Really.I don't pay any attention to standards, national or otherwise.

If I remember correctly, dissection does not take place until the tail end of the course. (either the last or next-to-last module)
I would recommend holding off on ordering those until closer to when you'll need them. I ordered at the beginning of our school year and they were pretty "dried out" by the time we got to them. ;)
is there a how-to book on transcripts

I used Homeschooling High School:

It has TONS of information on figuring credits, class descriptions, etc. Then I typed my daughter's transcript up in Word and printed it on nice paper. ;)
