We have a 1993 Suburban with 230,000 miles on it. I would hop in it tomorrow and drive across the US...no questions asked.

I've never heard of any of those programs... I believe MOST Chemistry courses require a SOLID background in Algebra 1. Best wishes...

I totally agree...and I'm not a Sonlight Mama. (and I never have been) It just totally "rubs me the wrong way" that they keep "waffling" on their position.

My Grand Caravan got about 29 mpg on the highway. My Yukon XL gets about 18 mpg MAX...less in town.

A Yukon XL *is* the same as a Suburban...just made by GMC instead of Chevrolet. :) *LOVE, LOVE, LOVE* mine...the only negative is the MPG...

We *had* a small flock of 5 that would NOT go in the coop...they have been sleeping UNDER the coop in below zero temps. :confused1: Yesterday a fox got all 5 of them...

We have never had satellite internet, but have friends/family that do. You want to read the fine print as they have pretty strict rules about usage limits per month and will "shut you off" for the rest of the month if you go over the time/data limits.

My husband had an attack 2 years ago on New Year's Eve. My oldest daughter drove him to the ER in the middle of a blizzard because the ambulance wouldn't come out. :glare: By the time they figured out what was going on, he had turned septic. He ended up on IV antibiotics for 2 days before they operated. The sooner you take care of this, the better. :grouphug:

Notgrass has a new middle school program called "Uncle Sam and You" which would cover the government part... Haven't found an economics program I like for that age...

The cost of textbooks is a "racket". I have had 2 children take dual enrollment courses at the local CC. The books have never been less than $160 each -- USED. This is for core classes such as "College Writing", "Intro to Computer Applications", etc. The College Writing textbook my daughter purchased was never used. (As in, the instructor NEVER assigned/used the required textbook.) When a student tries to sell a book back to the college bookstore, they are offered pennies on the dollar. One usually makes out better trying to sell the books to a student taking the class the following semester. (and that only works if the instructor doesn't change books mid-year)
