  1. Hello, I was wondering if any of you have had similar concerns. My 7 y/o has lots of fits. He gets angry and has temper tantrums still. He will blow up at some of the slightest hints of aggravation from my 10 y/o. My concern is that they are constantly together and that he may be "feeling "small'. After all, he is always seeing his older bro draw better, throw harder, jump further, run faster, and know more 24/7. I am hoping this is not overwhelming for him and that being at home together all the time is exacerbating his feeling like the "under dog". Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
  2. Great, I am in North Arlington and still looking for local groups. Any suggestions would be awesome. Thanks!

  5. Hi! Anybody on here from the DFW Texas area? :D
  6. I am trying to firm up all of my plans for this coming school year :tongue_smilie:and was wondering if anyone else here has experience teaching two kiddos that are two years apart (2nd & 5th) grade and do the same (basic) work for things like history and science. My plan is to continue TSOW Ancients and have my oldest do more extra reading, writing and outlining while my youngest does the basic read, notebook page, map work, etc. Also, have them doing the same science experiments and topics with the oldest doing more thorough investigations and reading. I feel like it is best to start from the beginning and (luckily) 5th would be returning to the Ancients anyway, so he can stay on that track while the 2nd grader will just tag along. We just started hsing 2nd semester of this past school year so we are just half way or so done with TSOW. Any advice would be awesome. Thanks! :001_smile:
  7. Thanks for all the feedback, I guess it is more popular than I realized. We are enjoying it and I think that because I am pretty intimidated by teaching Latin (not having ANY experience myself) that this program is perfect for our beginning in the subject. My boys are 10 & 7 and we just started to h/s the second semester of this past school year, so I am taking it lightly for now to develop the grammar, usage and to make learning a modern language easier for them since they have no experience in that either. I will heed the warning that for a more serious approach we will have to supplement. I actually like the teacher's manual because it guides you into extra activities (like some art, extra word root practice, and discussion tips). Thanks again, A.
  8. We have recently started this program for Latin and the boys and I really like it so far. Any opinions? I haven't read anything about it in this forum and know it's not in the book so I just wanted to know from some of you who may have more experience in the subject. Thanks! http://www.minimus-etc.co.uk/
