Thanks! Can anyone tell me what the subscription rate is on this? Or, even what a good sale price would be if I decide to subscribe to it in case we love it?
Yes, I'd like to know this also. We are doing a geography focus this coming fall and I could see where this might be very helpful. That said, I don't want to love it and then not be able to afford it.:(

We have a few lessons left in Megawords 3 that we will begin with in the fall (7th). After we finish the book, I'm not going to do any additional spelling. We don't do a separate vocab program either. They get plenty of vocab in their Latin, Grammar and Lit lessons. Just our take on it:)

I was wondering how both of you were doing, so glad it went well. Praying for a quick, full recovery for her!

I know I'm probably the last in line for this thing (don't have a smart phone either but that's for another post :tongue_smilie:) but it sounds really interesting to me. I walk every morning but that's about it as far as organized exercise and it monitors your sleep or something? Obviously, I'm clueless but I'd like to know more. I have a birthday coming up in July and it might be a gift suggestion for dh. Thanks!!

Mid-day check in.
Did everything on my list except school planning and hope to get to that this afternoon.
Steady rain here; tempted to take a cup of tea and my book out of the porch :seeya: .

Common areas (living room, dining room, main hallway) have to be tidied up before meals. Food is a wonderful motivator :D (No, I do not starve my children if the house is a mess; I give them a 15 minute warning before meals and they use the time to tidy the main areas. They just know that no one sits down to eat until the common areas are tidy.)
:iagree: Also, I try to remember to ask them if there is anything they need to do, clean up, etc. when they ask to do an activity; go outside to play with the neighbor, play the Wii, whatever. Again, it's a good motivator to get it done in a timely manner;)

Praying right now!

I am planning on using the Logic Stage Earth Science this fall. Any preference between printed version and pdf?

My rising 7th grader just finished The Westing Game in two days. He loved it. I know he would never have chosen it for himself so I picked it up at the library and offered it to him. Huge hit!

I'm so sorry that things have been so stressful for your family. I will certainly pray for you and I second the suggestion to reach out to your local church. Ours has a benevolent fund just for situations such as this one.

Got to everything but package for my daughter; must do that tomorrow!
Daughter in law texted this a.m. and asked if they could swim today, well, of course!!;)
So after errands, came home to a houseful and spent the rest of the day by the pool.
They joined us for dinner, thankfully my roast was able to stretch enough to feed 10 people!;)

I think that's enough for one day :001_cool: .
Not too shabby, it's amazing what one can accomplish when you make a list and put it out there for everyone to see  .
Soon off to take a shower, sticky from the day's work. Then crawling into bed with a good book, night everyone!
-
Lucky,
Have a wonderful time! Looking forward to hearing all about it when you return;)

The field trip idea is a great "first day of school" idea. If it's only going to be one day I'd probably blow it off and just start on Tuesday.

I'm using some of her book suggestions, since she did a bunch of the work already for me, and I'm inherently lazy. :)
Based on that schedule, I requested "Free the Children." I'm going to read it and see if it's a good book for us to start out with, since she uses it in the first week or so. I read the synopsis on Amazon, and it looks good!
I'm also scoping out the free Geography booklist from Barefoot Meandering, which is awesome because it labels the young adult and Newbery Award winners. My son is a great reader now, but he was a delayed reader, and his vocabulary development is where it shows. So I need to mix up the less challenging young adult reading material with the stuff that stretches him. Scheduling something like Kon-Tiki in the first week would make him run for the hills!
Great resource! Thanks for sharing! I am putting together my own 7th grade geography course this year and all the suggestions are wonderful! I'm beginning to think I can actually pull this off:)

:grouphug: Melissa :grouphug: I'm sorry. Can you plan something fun for you to look forward to each day? Doesn't have to be big just something you might not do when dh is home? Just a suggestion:)
We are going to worship with my son, dil and 4 grands at their church this morning. I always look forward to that:)
My mother is hosting Father's Day; we all bring something. I'm bring Texas Sheet Cake
Hopefully, we'll be home in time and I will have enough energy left to plant those flowers!
Have a great Sunday everyone!
Gah! Anyone else realize NOW is the time start planning for fall??

Just beginning the process. I have it mostly figured out in my head but you all know how well that goes. So, need to get it down on paper, making lists, purchases, lesson plans, etc. I actually enjoy the process but need to get it jumpstarted. We won't start back officially until the last week of August so I have time.
