  1. I have decided to switch to PAL Writing. However I am not excited about their blended sound phonics so skipping the PAL reading.
  2. I used this with my 3yr old who wanted lessons like her big sisters. I thought the whole Ziggy puppet thing was going to be silly, but she loves it. She also loved the coloring sheet activities. Overall good program:)
  3. I have used lapbooks for a way to review which my kids love. Here is a link to a SOTW blog with the free downloads for the lapbook and tons of other helpful ideas for projects and review. Awesome blog that you must check out http://runofthemillfamily.blogspot.com/p/story-of-world-resources-for-volume-one.html The link I have is for vol 1 but on her page she has vol 2 as well. Blessings, Katie
  4. We have been doing WWE and have completed level one. Before we head off to level 2, I am considering switching to PAL by IEW. I plan to start using IEW in 4th through CC and would like to know if anyone is currently using PAL and would recommend the switch now? I appreciate any suggestions:) Blessings, Katie
  5. Thanks for feedback and suggestions. My first grader is reading independently and is constantly hearing or reading new words and asking me what it means which got me thinking about a vocabulary curriculum. It seems like most start around third grade. Do you think starting in 2nd grade is too soon? Going to look up your suggestions online:) Thanks again for your helpful reply:)
  6. When should I start vocabulary and is there a curriculum you recommend? We have been doing spelling for a while now and thought that it may be time to start learning definitions. any suggestions appreciated:) thanks!
  7. I started my first grader with spelling workout, but I was not pleased with the workbooks. My daughter was still getting fustrated with having to write so much, so we switched to AAS where she could use the tiles instead of writing everything. She loves it and I absolutely love it. We are now on to level 2 and plan to stick with it:)
  8. Thanks for the suggestions!! I think that I am going to get one really nice picture book of Florida birds from National geographic along with a North American bird guide and the laminated trifold for birds in our area. We are so excited to get started in our studies and to build some birdhouses:)
  9. Thanks! I just looked up the reviews for this book and it seems to be a very good resource. I appreciate the recommendation:001_smile:
  10. We just started lesson 2 on birds and I would like to purchase a bird guide for kids. I would love any recommendations to a great guide!! Thanks!!!! Katie
  11. I am trying to decide if should start using this with my 3yr old. I think that I may need to wait a year, but she already recognizes all of the letters. I do not want to push too much, but would like to encourage her learning. I would appreciate any thoughts from anyone who has used the program. Thanks!!!
