Already thinking about next year and I was wondering what types of classes your co-op offers. Our co-op offers classes for pre-k through 12th and it is in need of some fresh ideas for class offerings. In addition to the classes, what curriculum, if any, do you use?

We just went to Chicago in December. I booked a 4-star hotel in downtown Chicago through Hotwire. I paid $69/night. We took the Amtrak there so we did not have to worry about parking. We bought CTA passes and rode the subway or metro buses everywhere. For meals, I purchased gift certificates from restaurant.com, and also our hotel was 2 blocks from Whole Foods Market so we purchased many non-perishable food items from there as well. HTH :)

My dd7 is a visual-spatial learner and she does great with CLE. I tried MM for a short period of time and we went back to CLE. I liked the idea of MM and thought she would do well with it, but I was wrong. CLE just works for her.

Yes, still having issues here. I tried Google Chrome and it was saying that the file could harm my computer???? I emailed funnix but have yet to hear back from them.

I recently booked a hotel through hotwire and when I did, I did not realize that I did not put my kids in. We are booked to stay at the Hotel Felix in downtown Chicago. From the pictures on their website it does not look very kid friendly and it is boutique hotel, which means the rooms are smaller than usual.....
I contacted the hotel and told them what happened and they said that if I want a room with 2 beds that I may have to pay an upgrade fee (if they even have one available).
I am hoping that somebody has stayed there with their children and had a good experience. Anyone....???

I have TT Pre-Algebra & TT Algebra 1 and I have never had to install anything or enter a code. I just put in the cds and they start playing ( I have to click on "run program" first). Do I have a different edition or what?

I made my decision late, because I was waiting to see the goods at our convention (which was last weekend). Now I'm stuck battling every other procrastinator and it's making me nuts. I might as well buy new for the prices that the used stuff is going for, but I don't have the funds for new!
:banghead:
I'm getting into obsessive mode (which isn't fun for anyone in my family), because there have been a few good deals that I haven't been quick enough to snag. So now I'm running searches on homeschool classifieds 8 times a day, just in case someone lists something.
If anyone out there plans on selling MFW Adventures soon, pm me!
Have you tried the MFW yahoo group?

My ds12 says to me,
"Mom, that's not fat, it's just extra skin."

If you have a 7th grader that will be doing Apologia General Science with MFW, do you have them do that AND the other assigned readings/experiments that are on the weekly assignment sheet or just the Apologia? Thanks!

She sent me a new link within 24 hours.
YAY!!!!! That is what I was hoping to hear. I am glad everyone has experienced such great customee service. DS is looking forward to getting started. Hopefully, it won't take long to work it out. -
This same thing happened to me and she just sent me a new link today. Great customer service!!!:hurray:

I think the fact that they are frozen is the best part. They are good for packing a lunch that way, and they are tasty straight out of the freezer. I have even tried making my own by making a pbj and using a cookie cutter to cut out the middle and sort of smush the edges to seal them. They taste good but the edges tend to pop open. I do have more flavor options when making my own though. Right now we have homemade honey peach jam.
That black raspberry sounds good too. :)
We make our own uncrustables using this from pampered chef. I have not tried to freeze them though...

We had 2 red eared sliders for about a year and no one got sick here. I just made sure that anyone that touched them washed their hands afterwards. They are so cute!! :)

I found Cathy Duffy's book helpful. I checked mine out from the library.

I just bought these two games for my dd7 and she loves them...
Words on my Mind and Head Full of Numbers
Both are by Learning Resources.
Forgot to add pros and cons....
pros...dd usually has trouble sitting still but with the hourglass timer she tries to hurry up and find as many words or equations as she can before the time is up. It holds her interest for a longer period of time than other games we have played. She also struggles with reading, so for now we only look for 2 and 3 letter words. She usually does not want to sit and do any kind of phonics work but this is a "game".
cons...really haven't found any yet

:grouphug: so very sorry...praying for you and your family

Is the math card games kit ($50) worth it? We do not use RS, but I have heard a lot of good things and my dd7 loves to play games.
Thanks!

I can't decide between Real Science 4 Kids & Science Odyssey (Biology) for my dd6. I am tired of looking at the both of these and just want to make a decision.
TIA

I started Eat to Live in June '08. I didn't follow it exactly the way he wants you to, but I did cut out all animal products. I was not able to eat all the raw/cooked veggies that he recommended. I also continued to drink my 2 cups of coffee every morning (w/truvia & vanilla soy milk). I lost 20lbs. in about 6-7 weeks. My weight loss started the first week and over time I could tell it everywhere. It has been a little over a year and I still limit my animal products. I have pizza every once in awhile and I am not quite as picky about every single ingredient. It definitely has opened my eyes to all the yucky stuff out there.
I use his recipes in his book, but I also have found a few other resources that I love. Vegan Planet cookbook and Fresh From the Vegetarian Slow Cooker cookbook. There is also a website I go to often called fatfreevegan.com. HTH.
Best Wishes!
