I don't see Abeka curriculum discussed very much on these boards. Has anyone used any of the 7th grade curriculum? I'm thinking of using the science and health for 7th graders. I would appreciate any feedback.
Thank you.

I never see much on these boards about Abeka curriculum. Has anyone used any parts of the 7th grade curriculum? I'm thinking about using the science and health portions this year. I would appreciate any feedback.
Thanks

I've been going back and forth on using History Makers for 7th. I really like the concept, but $195.00 is a lot of money. Plus I would need to buy the IEW Writing Program, which is also very expensive.
So---for those of you who have used this program, was it worth the money?

You can register your girls as Juliettes. They can work on badges on their own and still participate in the activities put on by your local council. They can still sell cookies and nuts. This would keep them active in scouting until you found a troop to your liking.

Are there any books that could be used with General Science to balance out the young-earth point of view? Perhaps something with an old earth theory and also a good explanation of evolution theory.
I'd like my dd to be exposed to differences of thought in science.

I am posting here instead of the K-8 Board because I'm hoping some of you that have already done the middle school years can advise me.
My dd is has used Rod & Staff grammar for the past three years. It is a good program, but I think we both could use a change. I've been looking at the Stewart English Program by EPS. Has anyone here used it? Any likes or dislikes? Thank you.
BTW, Is it better to post on this board about middle school questions, or the K-8 Board? I was thinking that since you ladies have BTDT, this High School Board might give me more info.
Recommendation for a good World History spine for 7th grade
in High School and Self-Education Board

I have decided to uses Trisms History Makers, but there are several World History programs that I've looked at. Abeka has a 7th grade world history text: "History of the World in Christian Perspective." The Rainbow Resource catalog has two programs for middle school that look interesting. One is called "History of Our World." The other is called "Global History and Geography: The Growth of Civilizations." Both of these are secular. I was thinking of getting one of these to supplement "History Makers," but I've spent so much already!
