We rarely exchange gifts as its hard to just cover the kids. I'd be super happy with gift cards to hobby lobby and joanns so I can make some gifts. I want them early though lol. My birthday is in a little over a week and I got a ton of scentsy stuff on the way with holiday scents so im counting that as a Cmas gift too!

It's all a balancing act. I have 4 (3 are school aged) I also have 1 daycare baby and my home Biz. I also have older children though who can help out with meals and cleaning. I don't have my daycare baby on weekends so we do more school on the weekends and my husband only works 4 days a week Fri-Mon. so it works out good for us. I could not successfully homeschool and work a full time job outside of the home. I do however have to help out as my husbands income isn't enough for the lavish lifestyle I have grown accustom too (please read the sarcasm in that lol)
Also, my kids go to a full day co-op once a week and my husband is also off on that day so he tends to the babies and I tend to the home. AND I have a love affair with my crock pot ;)

Your favorite (holes in the knees and too tight for decency ) jeans are missing? I didn't see them come out of the wash (because they went into the trash first)
I did this last week with a shirt my dd loves I just find it ugly and can't stand it lol

totally found a piece of chocolate in my chair today... well someone else saw it first I totally didn't yell dibs and run into my bathroom and eat it.
It was mine I had lost it and blamed the kids it was still perfectly wrapped lol

Im a few months behind. We bought a house in May and just finally got internet turned on. It was no easy task in the boonies services don't like to reach here lol. I have been doing ok. The move was rough of course but summertime is usually good for me. Its the winter I dread. Each year seems worse and worse but I'm hoping that now that I can pretty much stay home 99% of the time I will do much better.
I spent most of the summer in the pool, have a nice tan going and just getting back into school mode. The kiddos are doing a co-op this year and I am enjoying the one day a week with just my youngest at home.
Hope all is well with everyone!

my wiggle worm sat on a yoga ball for grades 2-5th it required her to focus so she didn't fall off. This is her first year not using it (because we moved and didn't bring it) She is doing ok but I'd rather have it back lol.

I am working on a crochet toddler head band with flowers you can change based on your outfit (the flowers will attach around a button) I just made 4 flowers and waiting on the measurements to finish the headband part.

I have a schedule and do moderate cleaning 4 days a week and 3 days off ( and by off I mean I still vacuum, do dishes, laundry and spot clean the bathrooms) and my house can get trashed quickly with my 4 kids and 2-3 daycare kids a day. I'm extremely nit picky and pick up as I go about the day to so nothing gets "piled up" Sundays is my only daycare free day and hubby chips in to do the deeper cleaning with me.

We have a community pool in our subdivision. My kids bring toys and floaties if they leave them laying around kids will take them. Personally I find it rude because I teach my kids not to touch/take things that don't belong to them. Some kids will ask me if they can play with something I tell them which child it belongs to and to ask them. We have had some issues due to language barriers (our area is heavily Hispanic)
I also don't allow the children to bring personal/special toys that they can not live without. We have dive sticks, squirt guns, floats etc.

Things have moved rather quickly if the bank gets the info back to our agent by 4pm tomorrow we could wrap up closing on the new place tomorrow. Either way the realtor said Tuesday at the latest. I'm excited (and feeling a bit like a real grown up) having our first home. We did move to a bigger hotel room but still I can only wash dishes in a bathroom sink and make crock pot dinners for a few more days before I go bananas lol.
The new room seemed to come with germs with the exception of dh we all came down with nasty colds but the upside to that is we have just been laying around reading and watching movies I haven't had to entertain them much lol.
I'm just way ready to close this chapter in our lives and move on too better things!

I like to switch it up.
For quick fixes cereal, oatmeal. Muffins (I pre make and freeze)
Recently I have been doing crockpot oats, even egg dishes etc. it's nice to wake up to breakfast already made.
I need high protein personally, I like whole grain wheat bread toasted with almond butter and a side of cottage cheese.

Dd14 is a lefty and the only hardship she has had is using can openers and one of these days I will buy her a lefty can opener. My older brother (he is 35) was going to be a lefty but my parents/school used to force him to use his right hand. He can use both now and was an amazing lefty batter...funny his batting didn't bother my parents but heaven forbid he write with his left hand lol.
My parents where not mean or abusive by any stretch they followed the advice of our family doctor and the school we attended. I do believe they tied his hand or tapped it up.

It's been a crazy few weeks, we are on week two of motel living (which may last until June) still waiting to find out about a house ugh..
Lets just say we are bonding lol. The trying to keep a tiny room clean has taken a toll on both dh and I (too much bending oy!)
For extra fun I slipped ever so slightly in water and tweaked my hip. Other than that we have been swimming and hitting the hit tub a lot which has helped a lot. Not getting much in the way of schooling done but we are just working on fun, end of the year stuff anyway.
I like the well trained WW name lol. Once we get settled I will join in, convince foods and junk food are near impossible to stay away from right now I have a tiny fridge and next to no storage for fruits/veggies..hopefully the month just flys by.

Crockpot
Good knives and cutting board
Electric griddle
The 99 cent mini ikea flipper (looks like it belongs to a kids kitchen but I love it)

That seems crazy to me, our former church also baptist. The pastor spoke very highly of homeschooling moms and we had a good amount of them. The church even had its own school, yet the pastor had tons of events, graduation, sports teams, banquets etc. just for us!
I don't think it's really a concern of the pastors how the children of the church are educated. I would just say what is in your heart.

I will totally cover gas. I hate driving! I can not wait lol.

Wow...she sounds so much like my mother (I have never met my mil so I don't know what to expect lol) we moved across country to get away from my Mom. The relationship is fine now but we needed space (I was her only child she just couldn't let go)
I'd make the move, and hopefully the space will stabilize the relationship.

Yup...totally...walked many blocks with a heavy bag of library books just to find out that library wasn't connected with our home library and had to walk back with said heavy books (and a dog trying to drag me + 4 kids)
But I think I'd rather do that than clean up exploded egg mess lol

2 of my 4 are in glasses.. I think the younger two will follow suit despite dh's 20/15 vision..My eyes are horrid.

Is not a word I like hearing out of my children's mouths dd14 picked it up from my mom when she was very young. My mom didn't find it to be a bad word till she heard it come out of her young grand daughters mouth. My mom didn't even realize she said it so much.
I do kind of feel it is a substitute for $h*t though I try not to use it myself but I grew up hearing it a lot apparently lol.
Ps I think it's totally silly to say carp for crap...but my nieces and nephews have lots of made up words.
Putting a child in school for "social benefit?"
in General Education Discussion Board

I didn't read all the replies yet but I have always felt that kids are not in school to socialize but to learn. So many social opportunities outside of school. My girls have co-op, church, activities, neighborhood friends etc. I think they honestly get more social time than a student in a class room of 30+ kids. I used to get in trouble for talking in class lol.
