  1. For me yes it is worth the drive. Now where I live Walmart is that far away too so for me it is a one trip and get everything needed.

I would get it for one year and see how you like it. The membership fees are not expensive anyways, $40 for one year no big deal. Then you have a year to decide if you want to do it again or if it was not worth it to you.

  2. I was looking at the sample lesson for grade 3 on the OM site. Now I have some questions.

There are no worksheets for math or an actual math curriculum?

Do you just jot down math problems for children to do?

    No history or science spines?

Is that the information needed to teach all subjects in the main book?

Is it enough information in your opinion or do you/I need to add to that to make it complete?

What are the weaknesses of this program in your opinion?

What are the strengths of this program in your opinion?

    Thank you for your help.

  3. My choice is McRuffy Color Math.

I second this. The program might seem too light at first, but give it a chance honestly it has been the best math program we have used yet. I did make the mistake of dropping it once thinking we were not doing enough, but boy was I wrong. My little man absorbed it all and we switched back and he is still doing awesome.

  4. If the 90's came back, I wouldn't complain! :D

Oh yes! I could so go for the grunge 90's again.

Now my daughter is big on the 80's look. She has all the neon, high top odd colored shoes, checkered hoodies, tight jeans some with and without holes. The whole look minus the poofy hair. Now she was sporting a half side ponytail the other day. I wanted to cry.:lol:

  5. I only buy used if it will save me tons and it really depends on the condition and who is selling it (been burned a few too many times). Like if it is only a TE no I won't buy it, since it will cost me to get the other resources and shipping it usually ends up not being worth it. So, for the most part I buy new saves me the hassle later on. It all shows up at once, I know the condition will be usable, and saves me time.

  6. Don't forget that your family seems to have turned into a herd of elephants.

That maybe if I shave my head bald there won't be so much weight on it. But then you realize the shaver will kill your ears and then thinking you have to move and be in light takes that thought away.

That the beat of your heart is so loud and the pounding in your head you keep thinking of new ways to stop both.

During a migrane your list sounds perfectly rational to me.

  7. I have never signed a lease. All rentals I have rented have been verbal of x amount for rent due at the beginning of the month, you pay utilities etc. This home I am looking at requires a one year lease. I have no problem with that, since I will know I will have a home for one year for sure.

Now I found a place I really really like. It is not where we wanted to go, it is closer to this home not his work. Anyways the rent is $700 a month on a 3 bedroom, 1.75 bath, 2 car attached garage, large fenced lot. I really really want it! Great price and all.

So now to my questions, what all do that look for? We are in the process of fixing our credit, he has two more payments of his collection items and he will be debt free. Now mine is another story I have years and years to go. We are not married so he will be the main applicant. So my question for you is do I have to be a co applicant or just another resident of the house? My credit will really really effect our out come on this home.

Next question is on the application it asks have you ever been convicted of a felony. Well he has been but it has been over 15 years now and has not been in any trouble besides a few traffic tickets since. Will that effect us? Or will they take in consideration he has been on the right track for years?

Also we have animals, a small dog and a cat (who spends 98% of the time outside). I fear that the animal thing will effect us, but I cannot give up my animals. I would even offer them to see the home I am in now if that would help the process of me having my animals.:D

We will have the present landlord reference of us living here for almost 8 years, rent always paid on time every month, we have made improvements to the home, etc.

I just really am wondering what to expect. This is through a rel estate company who manages properties for people. If that helps you in helping me know what to expect.

Thank you for all your help and suggestions.

  8. Now someone told me there is an app for the ipad to get flash, they could be wrong though. Right now we have a Samsung Galaxy tab. Things I love easy of use, light portable, connects to the internet way faster than my laptop, all sites i use for school work on it. One thing that I wish I would have thought of would be bigger screen. Ours is just the 7" and I should have went with the 10". Problem with the small screen is you have to blow up stuff very very often to even read it if your are on the web. Even some pdfs I do also. But overall it has been great.

Looks like if you'll consider an apartment there are some more affordable choices. Have you looked out of town, maybe in wheatland?

I drive by those all the time on the way to a friends house. We would need something with a yard for my wonderful dog.

Wheatland is too far if we are trying to be closer to his work. We might just have to suck it up and fix this house. Thanks for all the input.

  10. Oh my goodness! I have never in my life heard of a rent that cheap, so I'd say you were lucky all these years.

Yes we have been. All the years we have rented I have never paid over $400 a month actually. I guess it just depends on where you live I guess. Now that there are so many looking for affordable homes to rent the low prices are no where to be seen.
