Hi Heather,
You mentioned on a post that you are combining TOG 1 with MOH 1 next year, I believe. I like both of these and am finding it harder to get our SL done on three levels now. Are you able to do the cards and quizzes in MOH? Would you mind sharing what you have? I'm curious as I seek out what we might do next year for K, 3rd, 4th, 6th, and 7th.
Thanks and God bless, Lillian
of the grammar, literary analysis, and writing instruction? I noticed it goes through grade 12. How does it compare to R&S or Abeka? This would be for grades 3, 6, and 7 next year. Thanks, Lillian
then which program would you recommend? I think they are pretty solid, but not completely. I just don't have the time to really learn it myself. Thanks for all your thoughts so far! Lillian
My dc have done LC 1 and almost finished 2. We want to continue on next year with Latin. We would like to continue Ecclesiastical pronunciation. I need for them to do it almost independently while making progress in Latin. What would you recommend to us? Thanks! Lillian
Where should I start my dds, age 8 and 9 in All About Spelling? They are not natural spellers. Spelling Workout works great for my dss, but not these two. Thanks, Lillian
We have done Latina Christiana I and now II. My boys will be in 6th and 7th next year. They will still have about five lessons left in LC II when we break for summer. They have learned a lot with this, but I am wishing there was still more review in the lessons. I don't know Latin myself. I do like the Ecclesiastical pronunciation. Which would be more user-friendly for continuing in Latin next year? I thought of finishing this book and beginning Henle, or trying Latin for Children level B or C or something else? I like a Christian program.
Thanks! Lillian
or with a notebook, MOH-style? I am trying to streamline, and thinking about MOH 1 with a literature list for each child in 7th, 6th, 4th, and 3rd, with a K listening in. How do you do the notebook, and have you been pleased with it?
Thanks, Lillian
We have decided to streamline some of our subjects next year to have a shorter school day and leave more afternoon time for other pursuits. However, we still want to do a good job with the academics. We have been happy with Spelling Workout, Wordsmith and Wordsmith Apprentice, and R&S English for the LA area for my dss. Next year, they will be in 6th and 7th grades. Would CLE LA streamline our school but still do an excellent job teaching the English area? What would it cover? Would we still need Spelling Workout? They would be on G and H. What about CLE Reading? They will be working through a book list based on our History time period. Or would LLATL be better? I also thought about getting the IEW Ancient History-based Writing Lessons. We haven't used the whole IEW program and don't plan to.
I also will be schooling three younger dds.
Thanks for all advice! Lillian
How do you combine them? I am thinking about using Omnibus Year 1, picking and choosing for my 7th grader with the first two years of history cards and elementary program for dc in 6th, 4th, and 3rd. My other thought is TOG 1. I like the history from a reformed view in both and VP is more colorful, but I don't understand how it would work. I am spoiled with SL IG's up until now. We are currently doing Cores 5, 1, and PK with my 4 yo. TIA for your thoughts! Lillian
3rd edition, or have you talked to Susan about what they will be? I'm trying to educate myself more and also have Christmas money to spend! Thanks, and Merry Christmas, Lillian
