  1. If you order by phone I think it may be a little faster to get it out vs online. Also they give a 2% cash discount if you pay with ACH check vs a credit card. I guess becasue they avoid the merchant account fees with a cc? They are a very generous company. Our state homeschool association has a scholarship program with them for low income single parent homeschoolers.
  2. I'm 32 and I have the grandpa wild hairs! I had my thyroid radiated a few years ago and they seemed to start after that, along with the menopausal style thinning and small bald spots. OK to answer the ?, I wax my eywbrows. I buy the sally hanson wax, it lasts forever. If you don't want to rip dried wax off your face alone, it's inexpensive to have it done, most places charge less than $10 for an eyebrow wax.
  3. I use two workbooks for ds and then our record keeping notebook and I keep it on our desk. He has a pencil case we keep on our kitchen table. My storage problem is library books!I keep a big plastic bin in the living room.
  4. I checked out as many books as I could find on the Five In A Row list. He also liked DK books with the nice pictures, and Usborne books about animals, science, magnets, and stuff like that. :)
  5. Farrah Did you do the diagnostic test? I think ACE is a good curriculum for playing "catch up" because it specifically places them where they have gaps. I would do some of the exercises orally to catch up faster.
  6. It's designed for the student to do independently with the parent doing flashcards for math and basically checking that each page is done. I do not agree with all of the doctrine. I love the character strips and Bible memory. I wish they were not so expensive. :( Their science and social studies are reading comprehension. They aren't worth the $ IMHO. This is true for just about any science/social studies curriculum for 3rd graders though! I think the library is much better!!!! :)For example they have a few paragraphs on Braille & sign language but this summer he read Out of Darkness and Story of My Life from the library. My dc has been enrolled in Lighthouse Christian Academy (ACE umbrella school) for two years. I have been pleased with the service. They give us a report card, letter verifying enrollment, and the teacher is always available during business hours.
  7. This just came in the mail. I hate the CD! I don't know if it's a man speaking but it sounds like an effeminate man with a very feminine voice. Besides that there is no time to repeat, the speaker goes very quickly. It's weird because I have the PL and LC 1& 2 CDs from MP and they go very slowly. I'm suprised this is so different. I really liked the way the lessons are set up and the material is presented. 1. If you are using how do you use it? Do you just keep playing the lesson again and again? 2. Do you know of a good alternative to introduce younger children to a language? We have used everything the library offers for children. I want to teach him a little more than numbers and colors this year. Thank you :)
