My boys all love drawing and enjoyed "Mapping the World with Art" by Ellen McHenry a couple of years ago. I've since adapted it and drew my own simple maps like Ellen's and have them draw every day with the goal of drawing from memory.

This happened to me before, just email them with the email that had the download link and they will send you a new link. I think they told me the downloads expire or something.
Ok, thanks! That must be relatively new, as I think previously I was able to download orders again that were a couple of years old but now cannot download one that is from less than a year ago.

I've ordered several pdf files from the Peace Hill Press site over the past few years and have always been able to download them up to 5 times from a page under my account at PHP, I think called downloads. I can't find it anymore. I've also gone to the email I received with the download link, and the link no longer works. (The file in question at the moment is Student Pages for SOTW 3, which I purchased April 29, 2013, but most of the others seem inaccessible at the moment too).
Am I missing something? Can someone point me in the right direction? Is there a new tab or page I need to click on that I can't see? (I do have everything saved on my laptop, just wanted to download it again on a more convenient at the moment computer).

One more question. Have any Canadians purchased and not been charged shipping?? I'm at the point where I've entered in my address and I'm ready to make a payment on an OPGTR seat with the magnets, etc, and the shipping is calculated at FREE? I haven't proceeded from there because that makes no sense.

The attachment shows what I am getting. I am using Firefox right now, but I have tested it on Safari and Chrome with the same results.

I can't even buy anything. The website is acting really goofy. I have hit place order button numerous times and its not going anywhere. Then when I tried to register the country and state refuse to show up. uuggh!! Anybody else have a problem with the website today?
I had the same problems. Earlier today it let me put in my address without logging in and told me shipping was free to Canada for the OPGTR set with the magnet boards. Then when I came back later, it wouldn't let me add the country. I finally logged in to my account and now it is saying my whole order is free?!? I tried on Safari, Firefox and Chrome. I have actually decided not to go ahead with the order for now, I'm just window shopping, but it is very puzzling!

Is it my imagination, or were the Powerpoint notes for SWB's talk on high school writing posted somewhere? On the Well Trained Mind site? On the Peace Hill Press site? I can't find it now. If someone knows where it is, can you kindly point me in the right direction? Thanks ever so much!

I wish. I get so cranky with all the lolling around and doing nothing over the holidays. Just want my house back from the relatives and my routine. 😳

I do believe we should proceed with caution when it comes to video games, despite the post above where I give my thumbs up for Minecraft and describe how my sons benefit from Minecraft (though not entirely directly from playing it). Minecraft is the first and only video "game" we have allowed. Unless you are regularly "gaming" with it and others online, it has none of the frenetic pace of any of the other games I've seen. My children are altogether calm when they play it. I like it. But like everything else: food, candy, movies, playing lego instead of doing math, we control it. It does not control us.

My sons (16 and 14) have actually built a money making business for themselves out of Minecraft. They draw and sell avatars based on Minecraft skins (starting with pencil and then finishing with Photoshop). My graphic designer son has gotten design jobs from Minecraft related websites too. We limit he time spent playing to Saturday afternoons (after chores) and early mornings before school (gets them out of bed!!). They've made enough money to afford a trip to Paris for two weeks to take in Minecon ( Minecraft "trade" show) at Disneyland Paris and of course, everything else Paris! I'd say Minecraft is a thumbs up for us. We are proud of them!

We built additions on our double wide. My husband made the additions a seperate piece from the main house so they can be moved on their own (and not have to be dismantled to remove from the house). This way we are doing ourselves or anyone who buys our house a favor if we ever move it/sell it.
We love our house. No basement to fill up with junk or have the kids misbehave in ;).

Oh, yes, Lizzie Driver, she is one of my favorites as well! She does Lamb's Book of Shakespeare, right?
And I second the recommendation on Kara Shallenberg. She has some great titles that she reads as well.

May I ask, how are you printing student pages? I have the WWE but no student pages to print. What am I missing?
I downloaded them from the Peace Hill Press website. It's a lot easier than trying to photocopy or rip them out of the book!

How IMPRESSED I am with Writing with Ease? I am right now printing out all the student pages (from level 4) for the coming year and filing them for one of my sons, and the literature selections are breath-taking! I can barely keep from just sitting here reading the passages instead of filing, they look so delicious!
Ok, back to filing! Then to print level 3 and 2 for my other sons...it's going to be a great year!!

I have not seen this in person, just stumbled across it online: Rod & Staff Canadian Coloring Book. I also have not used SOTW coloring pages, so I don't know how they compare. :)

Thanks for the reply! We have that one, it is more of a geography coloring book. It has outlines of the provinces and pictures of the flags etc. I found one Dover coloring book called Historic North American Forts. Which has some Canadian content and is more of what I am looking for. Hoping to find some others though!!

We are taking a break from SOTW and focusing on Canadian History (coinciding with my hubby just getting a job at one of our Parks Canada Historical Sites! Yeah!)
I'm using Donna Ward's Courage and Conquest as a spine, plus Story of Canada by Lunn. Has anyone come across any great coloring books or pages in the tradition of SoTW and Dover for Canadian history? My children absolutely LOVE the coloring page portion of SoTW.

Wow! Ya'll pay 12% sales tax?? :svengo: We pay exactly half of that in my county. It's amusing though that you use Target and Walmart as examples of good customer service. :D hehehe You must not have ever been to my local Walmart. :lol: :lol:
To OP, maybe you can get a "board buddy" who is in the US who can send you stuff? I do this for Rosie when there is something she needs from here. :)
Sales tax varies by province. My province does not have provincial sales tax, and our federal goods and services tax is 5% (GST). The 12% mentioned was the 5% GST plus 7% provincial sales tax (PST).
I don't think I've EVER been in a Walmart or Target with good customer service and I've lived in both Canada and the US! :confused:
